Another legend gone. Not sure where I sit with an afterlife... but at times like this, I'd like to believe that there's one out there that waits with open, welcoming arms for all the legendry musical ones.

Rest in Power Tina!!
Thank you for telling us all that we deserve love and respect.

Tina Turner sang "Better be Good to Me" - One of the first songs I heard where a woman doesn't just ask to be treated well, but demands it.

She will be missed!

I never really thought I would ever read that Tina Turner had died.

Her music and talent was superb and so very powerful.

She also had the wisdom to retire from showbiz while she was on top and lead a very private and happy life in a beautiful place, with a husband who adored her.

My greatest condolences to her husband of 27 years, and her many friends and collegues.

Tina Turner, the exuberant, heel-stomping, wild-haired rock goddess who sold out stadiums, earned a dozen Grammy Awards and won the adoration of fans around the world in an electrifying music career spanning five decades, died Wednesday at her home near Zurich, Switzerland, according to a statement from her publicist.

She was 83.

"With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model," Turner's publicist, Bernard Doherty, said in a statement. He added that there will be a private funeral ceremony for close friends and family members.

The arc of Turner’s high-flying but tumultuous life was music industry legend — as well as the basis for a hit 1986 autobiography (“I, Tina”), a Hollywood biopic (“What’s Love Got to Do With It”) and a Broadway jukebox show (“Tina: The Tina Turner Musical”)...

She was just fabulous, a tribute to females, a great person, incredible singer and unrivaled dancer. I loved to watch her perform. She overcame so many adversities to become the renowned person she became. I will continue to watch and listen to her music. May she be held in God's loving arms and RIP. MOO. Katt

RIP Tina!

I have a story to tell. I went to Caesar's Tahoe specifically to see Tina in concert decades ago. A couple walked into the elevator where we were, saw a poster for Tina's concert and said... "Who is Tina Turner?". My BF and I just looked at each other and shrugged. We didn't bother to educate them on who Tina Turner was. lol BTW she put on a GREAT show as she danced on those lovely legs of hers. :)
