As much as I hate to say it, I hope there is some closure in this case. He crosses my mind daily.

Per Google, it would take approximately 51 hours (most likely much more) to walk from Hendersonville to the wildlife range. Meanwhile, it's approximately a 2.5 hour drive.
IMO, far too far for a homebody kid to walk in the middle of the night, but an easy drive for a perpetrator needing to dump a body away from the origin point.

That is what I was thinking.

It would be a hard journey for an adult, even one accustomed to walking far distances or hiking. While technically not impossible, it would be immensely difficult for a homebody teenager with special needs. MOO.

As for the new surveillance video, Sheriff Eric Craddock sent Fox 17 News a statement, "Law enforcement has had possession of the original video since 72 hours after Sebastian was reported missing. After thoroughly investigating this lead, we determined that it has no relevance to the case."

Cody Andrew Ramsey also went missing in Cumberland County, there is no thread for CAR, or at least that I could locate from my search.

Steve Fischer, a private investigator working with Katie and Chris Proudfoot, Sebastian's biological mother and stepfather, said the video appears to show a figure walking on Kellyn Lane, a block over from Sebastian Rogers' residence. Fischer said it was taken at 12:17 a.m. the night Sebastian went missing.

Re: WHAT DO WE ALL THINK???

I think I need clarity!!!

LE thinks this video plays no role in the disappearance of Sebastian --- yet the PI has released the video????

Is this correct???

I wish LE could be more clear on how they determined the video has no relevance. Did they definitively identify the person as someone other than Sebastian or does that just mean it's impossible to tell if it's him or not?

IMO, the PI released the surveillance video to take the heat off the Mom and stepdad.

As a side note, the person in the video seems to be walking slowly and carefully like someone might if they weren't wearing shoes but I still find it very hard to believe Sebastian willingly left the house without shoes in the winter.

Yes, that's correct. It could be construed as @Ssschu says above. Or that the PI/Proudfoots really do think there is a chance this is Sebastian and LE is wrong.

Since LE has specifically addressed this video, said it was investigated 72 hours after he went missing and found it to be unrelated to Sebastian's disappearance. I think I'll call this a red herring. As to "why", IMO @Ssschu called it correctly. I can't really see anything in that video and I full-screened it on my very large desk-top monitor.

I can’t believe it’s been a year Sebastian. There’s so many people thinking about you and hoping you’ll come home safe. So many theories. I have to admit, I’ve almost given up hope a few times but I’m holding out for a small miracle.
I'm in the land of make believe with you. That Sebastian was too much for his stepfather to handle and too much pride to leave him with his father so they re-homed him. Distant relatives who are harboring him...

Realistic? No.

But I don't like the alternatives and I'm stumped for what actually transpired that fateful day. Things that go bump in the night.

LE is quiet. That's hard to read at this point. Cold case slumber or active investigation behind the scenes, tailing whom they need to tail, hoping for leads.

I wish I could be optimistic, but I think, and have thought from the beginning, that he is dead.

Like Cadence Langley, I think he's another autistic teenage kid who is never coming home.

MOO

methinks the PI released this very poor video capturing what may be a completely unidentifiable person walking in the general vicinity to take pressure off the Proudfoots, who are not faring well in the court of public opinion. It is certainly NOT new and it shows exactly nothing helpful IMO.

It does serve to keep Sebastian's name in the news when press attention has waned in this case so I guess in that way it is good to release it even though LE has already investigated and vetted it as non related to Sebastian's disappearance.

Another one just happened not too far from me. I made a thread for him a few days ago. He was found deceased, never reported missing, I think the explanation for that will come out over time (currently only facebook rumors). OR - Thomas Strong, 17, killed by mom/BF, Lakeview, found deceased 2/18/25
