Just in case my foot. I think that they are saying that phrase as to not alarm anyone. But we here, us sleuths, know what this means. MOO.
My best guess is that they have information that we don’t have, obviously, and that information leads them to the landfill. JMO.

Yes, without a doubt.

The only think that makes sense to me is that law enforcement has in reality treated this as a criminal investigation since early on, and they're suspects. That interview was an attempt to quiet the noise of a suspicious public, while protecting themselves from the scrutiny of showing their faces on camera.
Agreed, absolutely.

He left home carrying a flashlight and wearing all black — a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants, authorities said, WSMV reports

When asked what message she would give her son, Katie said, “We love and to come home.”

Katie said no shoes were missing, and that a flashlight Sebastian often plays with was gone. His cell phone was also left behind. The parents also described Sebastian as not liking to get dirty, and not being a runner.

A viewer of the podcast asked why investigators were seeking video from earlier in the day Sunday, before the time Sebastian is said to have gone missing.

Christopher Proudfoot responded, "that we cannot release right now."

*what’s up with the flashlight? I passed this by the first time but now I’m wondering if the flashlight is important.

Emphasis mine.
Agreed.
Is there a reason the flashlight is missing ?
Was it used as a weapon and damaged ?
Since LE were looking at the landfill, I think these questions need to be considered.
Omo.

Flashlight: Since the police have shifted their focus to criminal activity and landfills, the flashlight may have left the house for other reasons. I’m just not getting the sense that this boy just left on his own, from the direction LE are going with this.

Only a guess, but it seems as though they may question the timeline. Maybe they suspect that Sebastian disappeared before he was reported to have disappeared, and they're looking for video from stores/homes/whatever so they can rule that possibility out. All MOO.

The more that comes out about this case -- the more I get an ache in the pit of my stomach.

Something just isn't sitting right, but I don't know what it is.

I don't love when I feel the inaugural ping of skepticism but here we are.

Presplaining?

Was there a figure in black, with a flashlight, who wasn't Sebastian?

Self-harm, then ferreted away, a quick couple hours away.

He was happy and laughing.... and now he's gone.

What happened in between?

How would they know that? If the mother told him goodnight and he went to his bedroom and she didn't see him again, how could anyone know what he wore when he left the house?

Were those clothes missing, and they just assumed?

What is Chris Proudfoot's occupation? Maybe it's already been posted and I just missed it.

Agreed. It’s not the story we were led to believe in the beginning, and law enforcement found that out early on, apparently.
I just hope he can be found quickly, and that justice will prevail.

If this case turns out similar to the Gannon Stauch case

I've been asking the same question. Who saw that.

Yes, you can guess from missing clothes. But it may also be part of a planned narrative.

I just don’t think Sebastian’s disappearance has a simple or straightforward explanation. And the reason for this is due to statements from law enforcement.

You know how CP was talking about SR's cellphone in the Dutchess interview? He was explaining that SR's phone was locked down tight so he did not have any options for social media. IMO He's strict in his parenting and proud that he is so protective over his stepson. I think he even made the comment that LE was impressed with his ability to dumb down the phone. I say this because finding info about CP has proven difficult - like extremely difficult. I have a possible lead to his occupation but I have not been able to verify it 100%. MOO

I'm finding it challenging as well. I know the mother said Chris was in Memphis for work, but what sort of work might that be? Being 200 miles away when SR vanishes is an excellent alibi.

Unless SR actually vanished before that. Now, hearing that LE is asking for video from before SR disappeared makes me wonder what's going on.

*partial transcript (I hope I got it right). The parents start talking around the 23:00 mark and shortly after the stepdad says:

Me and the mom were on the phone at 943 or 946. In the evening, we stayed on the phone for quite some time. The call logs have been verified by all the police departments, TBI included, we did stay on the phone, it was very lengthy, mom did start falling asleep while she was on the couch, I had said hey, you need to wake up, the dogs are up, go to bed, now mind that was just right around midnight, or midnight…

*these call logs are very important to him to know an exact minute

There is a reporter for NC5, Nick Beres, who has been covering the case extensively. He conducted a live talk about the case and took some questions from viewers. I don't know if he is approved so I'm not going to link directly to his Facebook, but the live talk he did was quite good. He does warn listeners not to jump to conclusions, which is always wise.

That interview gave off a vibe for me and CP made me uncomfortable.

When I first watched it I mistakenly thought that CP was the one who is in LE rather than the bio dad. So when I watched it he gave me quite the LE vibe. The lingo, the matter of fact way of speaking, and the repeated explanations of running a strict household didn't bother me because I thought he was the one employed in LE. I may have to watch it again because now I know better.
