Avery Vernie "Peaches" Shorts vanished from her home at the Montgomery Village Housing Project in South Knoxville, TN on December 26, 1980. Her body was discovered on January 23, 1982 off of Singleton Station Road in Blount County, TN. Her case remains unsolved.

There is plenty of information about her murder online, prime suspect was Mitchell Reed, he was also a suspect in order murders but was never charged because of lack of evidence. I wonder if DNA could either clear him or charge him? although he be 90 today.
