Again...thanks to all of your for the updates on the trial the past few days!!!

Suzi - on the link that you found that had all the documents, there is one document labeled "Prosecutors' response to effort to compel Vanessa Coleman's testimony or delay Letalvis Cobbins' trial." I've tried to click on it to read it, but my comp at work is not cooperating. But I think that *might* have info regarding her testimony?

Looks like she wasn't being too willing if they have to compel her to testify??

ETA: or, I'm reading that statement completely wrong...legal eagle I am not!! :)

It does sound like Vanessa will be a witness, but I'm not sure. It appears the judge refused to honor immunity and dismiss her charges in exchange for testifying before the Fed Grand Jury. And then denied the fact that she shouldn't testify at Cobbins trial so not to incriminate herself for her own trial that comes after.

Thank you Suzyq and others for keeping me up to date on this trial as I am not able to watch the live coverage. It is really appreciated.

Thanks for all the updates SuziQ and everyone else. This is a case I would truly like to hear from beginning to end, but I'm not able to.

Hey you guys.. Thank you SO MUCH for keeping us up to date. This forum is amazing.

I have been keeping track of this case since I found out about it about a year and half ago...

I was wondering what the significance if any the dog lead has.. It was found with the scraps of linen on or near a bush near Christopher's body at the RR tracks.. there seems to be some since they made a point to show that the end was broken off and logged it into evidence..

For some reason this disturbed me and I was wondering if any of you wondered or thought what the significance was and if they find random things around a body are they automatically a crime scene. I wonder if there are finger prints on it? Did anyone in the house own a dog? Just thoughts..

Thanks again.

Here is a Wiki entry that tells the story pretty good. Because racial/hate crime overtones the national press has largely stayed away from this story. I'm not aware of it being on Dateline or anything....but I'll keep looking.

Kindra, thank you for the reminder about the dog lead! I meant to elaborate more on it and forgot. It's the retractable kind of leash. The defense on cross made a point that it had not been sent to TBI. Possibly implicating that LE determined it didn't have anything to do with the Crime? IDK?

ETA: I don't remember anything about a dog, but I could be wrong.

Thank you SuziQ! You should be tweeting this instead of the reporter..I get so much more from what you are saying than him.. just saying. lol

Yes, I noticed there was a discrepancy in which they noticed it was not logged in on the bag.. why would they even bring it into evidence then? It strikes me as weird.

And to clarify, why would they log it into to evidence for the trial if it was not relevant?
