Does anyone else watching the live stream get cut off from time to time?

Seems to me the defense is saying he raped Channon orally but didn't do anything else. Seems that everyone in that house HAD to know what was going on and is culpable...all the way through murder. It was a small house and at least one of the bedrooms didn't have a door...just a blanket that was pulled closed. According to the Coleman transcript I read, she saw them put Channon in the trash can while she was still alive. I'm not sure I've seen anything to place Cobbins there directly, exactly when that happened, although there are witnesses that put him at the house on Sunday and the prosecution seems to be making the case that injuring and killing Channon were not done by one person. Think the defense is going to say Cobbin's big bad brother and his friend did all the really awful stuff. It's been very interesting to listen to the surrologist and medical examiner...awful to hear, but they both seemed very competent.

Miss Mathis is here. Defense asking she not be held and be cooperative. Defense didn't tell her she needed to be on standby. Judge says she has to stay in building won't arrest her. She just woke up.

Defense showing rapes attributed Davidson occurred closer to death than oral rape Cobbins admits

Green is showing injury from oral rape way less than injuries in rest of sex assault. Cobbins admits only oral rape

Not sure how this is helping defense but Green showing Channon's arms gripped with lot of force

Defense emphasizing Chris dead when set on fire

ME - took more than 1 attacker in Channon's death

yolorado, ITA now about the defense. Sure is a risky move imo.

The live feed below has been very good for me.

http://www.wbir.com/video/breakingvideo.aspx

Thanks for the link! The channel I'm on seems to cut away just before local news times...right in the middle of testimony.

I think the defense is taking a big risk too. However, he's obviously lied in taped interviews...about 'having sex' with Channon and other things. The DNA expert was very convincing. As much as he protested on tape that he left, Coleman, his girlfriend, seemed to have been there at least most of the time that Channon was held and killed-- according to her statement. So what, Cobbins left and didn't take her with him? Witnesses put him in the house at at least more than one time during the time Channon was there. Most of all, if he went away, where did he go? Doesn't seem to be able to prove he was anywhere else. I think he'll go down for Channon, beyond facilitation. I'm less certain on Newsome, but I haven't seen all the testimony. As for the death penalty, guess we'll see how that all plays out.

It's been heartbreaking to watch both sets of parents. Channon's dad really worries me because he seems to be about to blow or break. Imagine having to go through this for the second time now, faced with a future of almost certainly at least three more trials...maybe more. Maybe the perps get justice in our system. The victims families...not so much. In fact, pretty much not at all in this case---not for too long, not without so much torture. Seems like all these perps should have been tried together to save these poor people literally years of active agony, so they'd only have to endure one trial. Our justice system brags to much about being good when it inflicts so much injustice on crime victims. Just sayin'

Identifying belt that was wrapped around Newsom's ankles twice.
Do we know whose belt this was? Newsome's? Did they DNA test the belt or was it too damaged by the fire?

The Christian and Newsom families will probably never get over this. It will most likely be with them for the rest of their lives.

The lady that completed the autopsy looked as if she had tears after speaking she took her glasses off and wiped under each of her eyes. I remember the judge saying yesterday depending on the amount of theft the value is how long you could get time for, channons car was valued at 25,000 when sold. These are monsters my heart breaks for all the pain channon and newsom endured, he suffered terribly before he passed :( I have to leave soon so please keep taking notes.

MO, the ME was quite good. Voice calm and composed but definitely conveyed the savagery of the attacks as she spelled out facts of autopsy in manner of fact presentation speaking directly to the jury. Very instructive an interesting. Technical but I think she made the results understandable to most laymen without talking down to the jury at all. She looked drained by her testimony, although that didn't come through in her voice.

Yes, and on top of losing children in such horrid ways, they have to spend years of time and effort, literally expending parts of their lives, trying to get these awful people convicted. Seems like society should be more sensitive to that than we are.

ITA! And add to letting your client plead guilty to the fascilitating charges. A client who yesterday obviously was clueless as to what that meant.
I found his admissions strange and strained yesterday also.

Yes, Newsom's belt. My understanding is leather contaminates DNA.
