Identifying evidence she received from Chris Newsome's autopsy:
3 Bullets
Sheet fragments (sheet strips were used as binding)
Belt

Price enters these into evidence, passes witness.

Defense has no questions.

Leland tells judge that was their last witness of the day.

Judge says he didn't know that before they went on break... sort of apologizes to jury that they aren't utilizing the full day, but notes that they did get through 11 witnesses, so it was productive.

Admonishes them to stay away from exposure to outside info about the case through media or phone calls...

Says if someone tries to talk about it, to tell them they can't, and to blame the crudgy old man who won't let them, haha..

Talking about the newspapers he'd furnish, but the Tennesseean doesn't ship to Knoxville.. They can have non-local media, like USA Today, and watch national news.

They can get on their computers, but not online.

Return tomorrow at 9am.

Wait... Judge given a request by defense about VC's journal, I think... defense wants things redacted... things other people said to her...

Judge isn't thinking his request makes sense...

Other defense atty wants things suppressed that would be about VC's drug use. Judge doesn't remember any...

Price and TK say it comes up in her own statements.

They are saying that they wanted the marijuana in Chris' truck to be suppressed because it was irrelevant.

But VC's smoking marijuana with the co-defendants is relevant, because it shows she wasn't afraid of them.. she was part of the group...

Judge says it's ok to enter that as long as it's making a point like that.

Now going over other statements in her journal ..like about her monthly cycle.. judge just wants things to be relevant.

So does that all mean that the journal is in? Like we're gonna get to read it? Sorry I was completely lost on all that.

Thanks y'all for all the great posts keeping me informed. I'll be back tomorrow. Not quite sure what I thought I read in Coleman's facial expression as she was being led from the courtroom. Still thinking about that one.:waitasec:

The way I understood it, the judge said that Period, 4th - 11th and weird/normal could be whited out and the rest of the journal could stay in.

Judge stated that what a co-defendant said to her would not be supressed, even if she had not been charged at the time.

Yeah, I think he was using that as an example of things that weren't relevant to the case.

The second picture of VC above, she almost looks like she is smirking to me. I wonder what info is in her journal from the 4th thru 11th? Were they already talking about carjacking someone before that Saturday? I mean, Chris and Channon were murdered on the 7th, right? So, I wonder what was going on 3 days before that the defense doesn't want prosecution to see? Maybe drugs, or something that would open a line of questioning? Hmmm

Thanks guys for picking up where I left off. Hopefully tommorrow I will have the day free.

Very early this morning before the jury was brought in, there was a discussion about those pages in the journal. Lavit said they were not relevant and very personal. Whatever that means.

Hi everyone! I missed most of the testimonies today, so thanks for all the updates! You guys are the best! I logged in like 5 minutes before the cameraman accidentally showed Chris' body. How awful, I feel so bad for the families.

So glad this is the last trial!
