IMO, she was there, there is no evidence that she didn't participate either.

Waggoner has it in his notes that VC said she touched the bindings, but it wasn't from the part that was recorded.

Lavit is all over him for saying he thinks he has evidence that VC was part of the plot and guarded CC. Arguing over evidence that shows "may have" vs shows "did".

Lavit demanding to know where he gets the idea that VC being there means that she was helping them in any way.

IMO, just her being there did help them, and I think TK can show it.

Since when does a detective have to believe what a perp tells them? He's entitled to his opinion. It's not his job to convict.

Lavit really has done a # on Waggoner. "Is that all u can tell jury - she was there?"

Lavit - "u don't believe killers could do that w/o vanessa?" Wag: "she was there at all times"

Lavit "her mere presence kept Channon under guard" Waggoner: "she was there"

No that's not how govt people operate Waggoner says.

Wag also saying red purse was ID'd as Channon's. Her mom clearly said it wasn't

Wag: "her presence at scene is evidence. It may not be strong evidence but it's evidence."

Wag reduced to "nothing other than what I said" when pressed for direct evidence of Coleman's active role

Lavit challenges Waggoner when he says VC identified the purse as Channon's. Waggoner goes to the page in the interview.

Waggoner had asked, "did you take her stuff out of the red purse," VC says, "what purse," Waggoner said that was Channon's purse, VC says, "Yes sir."

Lavit says Waggoner told her it was Channon's purse - argument ensues, TK objects, Judge says let jury decide.

Lavit comes back, asks, "Why did you say VC said it was Channon's purse, when you're the one who said it, is that how you people operate?!?"

Objections - judge tells Lavit to be careful.

Lavit says ok, asks W to answer the question, W says, "OK, to answer your q, that's not how we people operate. " Laughter...

I forgot about Coleman guarding Channon in the bathroom.

  • #272
He's trying to get Waggoner say he lied to the jury.

  • #273
Lavit got really mad earlier because Waggoner wouldn't answer vague questions and was making Lavit be specific. Lavit insulted Waggoner for arguing semantics.

  • #274
My word is he irritating! Yelling doen't make it so.

Now sidekick is slipping Lavit a note! Pretty gutsy given judge's clear annoyance

Lavit's sidekick tries help Lavit, judge blocks, saying "save it" for later. Sidekick been doing this thruout

Is it illegal for the s/kick to do that?

This yelling will turn the jury off.

And this whole line ?ing ignores fact Coleman had Channon's stuff in purse and that's crime booty under law

State's going to have some rehab to do on redirect

He's trying to get Waggoner say he lied to the jury.

Exactly. That's why this is taking so much time and leads to so much confusion. He's picking away at what Waggoner says, trying to trap him with details, instead of sticking with what VC told him.

It's all about trying to discredit the government and ignoring what VC said and did.

Just because a suspect is cooperative and volunteering doesn't mean they are telling the truth. She voluntarily talked six times, well she lied in at least five of them. JMO.
