You'd think in 20 years he'd realise the error of his ways and take his 2nd chance at life and make it an amazing one - clearly couldn't be bothered with the hard work that would take.

Don't understand it either, really grateful that I don't to be honest, the world is a dark enough place at times with people like this casting their long shadows over so much and so many without having that darkness in my head

I'm not defending him at all. I'm just wondering how you realize the error of your ways when you've been a felon since you were 12 or so and now you're 38. His adult life of almost 4 decades has been spent behind bars with the exception of 2 years. That's the type of person he is. JMO

It shows a short surveillance video that pictures the car arriving at the brother's apartment complex, and then the suspect going to and fro from the car in dark pants and a white shirt. A lot of what he is doing is obscured by other vehicles and the camera captures him from a distance but he appears to be cleaning on the passenger side of the vehicle.
I saw that video too but the video looked a little shaky like it was taken by a person and not steady like a doorbell cam would. Did anyone else notice that and has anyone said where that video came from?

There were cars driving by during that time and wonder if anyone that drove in that area could check their dashcam if they still have video saved from that morning.

Imo I prefer to call it a possiblility, but if wishful thinking works for you that is fine too! Any clothing on a body makes it easier to identify the individual, no matter what has happened to them, so imo it makes sense a perp would remove clothes before disposal of a body.
But it only specifies her shorts. Nothing about her shoes or top. JMO

I am thinking that there are cameras in the complex and that is where it came from. I thought it was really clear but wish it were closer and I am wondering if they have a better angle from a different camera of him cleaning the car. JMO

I guess life for aggravated kidnapping is more appropriate. Obviously, should never have been on the street.

The newest affidavit actually says she was found by the back steps of the house at 1666 Victor street
That's why I said no one would have seen her by the back of the house. :)

I took this screenshot from Google Images and can't make sense of this. The affidavit says officers followed tracks through tall grass, detected an odor and found an unresponsive female to the right of the steps. Look how close the other houses are. I don't understand how a human body could lie in that location undetected for 4 days. This is the image from Feb 2022 so I expect there is a whole lot more greenery there at the moment, but still. Unbelievable.

Google maps is not NOW, it was months ago. Grass of all things changes.

Was the trash bag with her shorts located near Chestnut st? They said it was found about 100 yards away from her body. I’ve heard Chestnut street mentioned several times regarding the search so maybe it has to do with where they found the garbage bag? Also, I notice the media keeps showing pictures of the back steps of the house where Eliza was found, but news articles are saying she was found in tall grass by steps next to the driveway, which would be facing Victor st.
The affidavit described the trash bag as found approximately 100 feet north of 1591 S Orleans St.

The article that accompanies the video only describes it as "surveillance video."

For those who can't view it, there were also cars driving by in the area he was cleaning and at least one person walking nearby (blurred out).

Evidently people don't, well, not this one at least.

Yes, I understand that. I'm also referring to the odor. LE smelled it so I can't imagine why the neighbors in those two houses next to the location didn't notice it. Or are those houses abandoned as well? jmo

He knew he had an array of cleaning products at his disposal, including trash bags.

Interesting. He had a car. He could have driven anywhere to put the bag in a dumpster. Not all stores have exterior surveillance cameras. Coffee shops and small businesses of that sort don't. He didn't seem to want to put effort into covering his tracks.

This is so odd, it is as if he wanted to go back to prison...

Just noticed other posters said same...

We can't watch it because police have not released it to the public. They described some of what was in the footage but we haven't actually seen it.

oh but the poster mentioned 'there's more video than WE have seen'

I don’t think he cared about going back to prison. It probably feels most like home to him than anywhere else

Do they have surveillance in all public housing?

I don't mean to be disrespectful in my questioning, but what state would the body be in 3.5 days after she was killed and left outside? I did read that an officer smelled an odor. :( Could CA's DNA tracing him to her murder still be intact or does it start to disintegrate after x amount of days? Do you think the family had to ID her body or would DNA tests be enough? I'm hoping the later. Would they be able to have an open casket funeral?
Snipped by me....

This is all MOO but the only answer to your first question is "it depends." A lot of factors would be at play, including ambient temperature, amount of sunlight or precipitation she was exposed to, what kinds of wounds she had (if the body has a lot of penetrating or gaping wounds the decomposition process will likely be sped up), etc. But, the medical examiner and death investigators will be able to interpret all of it appropriately.

DNA will start to disintegrate when exposed to moisture and other environmental factors. Her shorts may be a better source of that biological evidence, to be honest, since they were inside a bag most of the time. Just have to wait and see at this point.

Again, my opinions only.

He seems to have spent painstaking time and effort into cleaning the GMC Terrain. Maybe because the person who owned it (not him) would ask a lot of questions if something was amiss?

There is a mountain of evidence already without suspect DNA, semen, etc on her body.
Decomposition is rapid in that heat and humidity, where insect activity will be immediate and she is outside, not clothed. I still would think some usable DNA, could be found, especially under her nails. Just as damning, her DNA is in his car, on his clothes. His DNA will be on her clothes.
