I think we'll hear more after AB and her boyfriend WM are extradited. They're already in custody. Whether they are talking to LE is anybody's guess. I'm not going to blame MB for this dysfunctional mess. I think her mother and her boyfriend might be the culprits.

JMO

MB is the baby's mother.

She's the one with the duty of care.

A mother does not just hand her year-old infant off to someone else and abandon her for 2 months without any contact whatsoever.

The first time MB was denied access to EV (which may or may not have happened, as I frankly question whether she made any attempt whatsoever to see her), she should have contacted authorities.

Lots of families live in dysfunctional chaos…dysfunction isn't a crime, though.

Parental neglect, on the other hand, IS in fact a crime.

So is child abandonment.

So is child endangerment.

MB didn't see or hear or touch her baby for over 2 months, and she did not report it to anyone.

For that, I hold her entirely responsible.
Entirely.

JMO.

You could throw a stone from Bristol to Blountville.
Not quite. They are 10 miles apart. I'm just curious why it is Bristol rather than the child's home community.

Okay, so another cultural tidbit on the Tri-Cities area for the benefit of those who have not visited or who may be from other countries... VA, TN, GA, and NC are all within miles of this area. You can actually visibly see all of these states from higher mountain elevations within the area. Again, this is unique to this area and can create confusion. It is like someone living in Arlington, VA and working in the District of Columbia. It is not uncommon because they are neighbors, even though the physical address is in a different state.

*Meant to quote you @GordianKnot.

Exactly. Evelyn is MB's responsibility. And if the court ordered her to produce Evelyn and she doesn't, she'll be held in contempt. MOO.

Wow. So the $2,500 theft charge was related to the car and MB was involved in the “sale” of the BMW.
To be clear, if you are referring to Megan B, she was involved in the failed purchase of the BMW from a third party. She was not selling the vehicle.

(Sales transaction with owner failed and AB, WM leaving in the vehicle is theft).

Love ya Gordian buttttt we don’t know any of this as fact. As I keep saying. We don’t know she handed Evelyn off. We don’t know she was ever denied access. We don’t know any of it.

All these characters are lying to hide something. Whether it’s to hide Evelyn or to hide what happened to her I don’t know but I think all their stories are just that.

I doubt MB knows exactly where to find the child. If the baby was with AB and WM when they were apprehended, the Amber Alert would have been cancelled.

JMO

MB has full custody. She has to know where her kid is. Jmo.

there is another case going on right now where this is a big deal at the moment, i am sure a bunch of you here are watching that one too

i don't think so its up to them to really determine that, but we are kinda getting to a point of semantics about this, i think most of us agree its just to hold them that its quite possible they'll never have to answer those charges, all the police care about is where the child is

i'd like to know what happens monday when the holds wear off and they can see a judge under TN law.. then what happens... hopefully she is found then i guess that's the hope
Then they're being extradited back to TN. MOO

Again, a cultural thing. Many of these folks drive way more than 10 miles just to go to a store or gas station. A site 10-20 miles away is viewed as part of the local community.

There's more than one event going on. MOO

Prayer vigil and fundraiser for Evelyn Boswell's return
  1. A “Pray for Evelyn Mae” event will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Cumberland Square Park.
  2. A candlelight vigil will take place Sunday in Kingsport at Glenn Bruce Park at 6:30 p.m.
  3. "The Krazy Gringos" food truck is hosting a fundraiser to increase the reward money for Evelyn Boswell. That fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday from 12-7 p.m. at the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.

The story the mother is telling seems oddly familiar. Was there another case similar to this or a movie? I’ve heard this crazy excuse somewhere before.

Geez...that 10% is a sobering thought that never even occurred to me. :(
Yeah... and when you’re little like Evelyn, that is a massive amount of time with a lot of development and growing. This is so sad. I just hope she is still alive.

Correct. It sounds to me like MB played middle man or something between seller and AB/WM. IMO. And we still don’t know who seller is.

ETA: And obviously AB/WM ended up stealing the car and taking it across state lines.

Ummm...why the HELL was a BMW being sold for $2500 ?! I call buncombe on that !

What about $2500 + silence?

Eta.... Or maybe just silence, until TB turned the burners on. (Speculation only!!)

I hate to do this> but can I get a quick synopsis? I’ve been away from internet and media and come back to see headline about a missing a toddler- not seen since Dec.- and then an amber alert, and now 2 arrests. I read through 3 or 4 of the media timeline links.. but I need a quick synopsis of what the media doesn’t report- but what sleuthers find out. There are SO many pieces to the story that have GOT to be missing. Can anyone guide to a link or a post that that help…

Let's say her mom was demanding she hand over the baby, and let's say she was overwhelmed with parenting the baby and decided to do so (despite her mom seeming like not the most trustworthy person to her). She could then be asking to see the baby, and her mom making excuses, and she was afraid to report it to police because she was worried her mom would then take off with the baby. I GUESS that's possible... but I'm not buying it.

Yeah, me neither. If that were the case, it would be no trouble at ALL for MB to tell the cops, “my mom has my baby. She took her on this date and I haven’t seen or heard from her since XYZ. I want my baby back!” The facts wouldn’t be changing, her story wouldn’t be inconsistent, it would be simple to tell the police a full and complete story. Likewise, the grandpa would have been told that grandma has the baby and nothing to worry about here. I think the cops are just saying the baby is alive to see what MB or any other random player will do if they think they aren’t on the hook.

I know EP lives in Louisiana but do the rest of these people live in close proximity to each other?
