EP found out Evelyn was missing when everyone else did. He enlisted in the army after high school and left for active duty before Evelyn was even born. He’s been in LA and on deployment since.

Thank you. So I assume he's never even seen Evelyn? This poor baby. I hope she's found alive and well, and then who would have custody of her? It normally would go to the other parent, but in these circumstances, who knows? I guess the time for that will be later, as long as God willing she is returned safely.

According to the Sheriff, a baby born out of wedlock in TN is automatic full custody to mother. This law alone probably creates hoops for a baby daddy. MOO

Many/most BMWs are manufactured in S.C. these days. They are a dime a dozen so I’m not surprised to see one for sale cheap. Around here, we refer to them as Bubba Makes Wheels. I’m a native and it’s a joke so please don’t tell me I’m insensitive.
I was surprised that the VIN that came back from running the plate shows that the vehicle was manufactured at the Regensburg plant in Germany rather than SC.

BBM. It isn't a crime to leave your child with a caregiver in order for the parent to go to work. It is the choices the caregiver made which are to blame. If MB had reported the missing baby immediately to LE would not guarantee the child would be found alive and unharmed.

JMO

That's a complete mischaracterization of this situation.

MB's story, if she's to be believed (which LE has indicated she isn't), is that she left EB with a person she trusted back in December, then lost all contact with her baby for 2 months.

MB never sounded the alarm.

Parents don't drop their infants off with caregivers and then allow the caregivers to deny them access to their infants at the end of their work day.

We'll never know whether, what, or how much of a difference it might have made if MB had reported her baby missing.

Because she didn't report EB missing.
At any time.
Ever.

That's beyond bizarre.

It's downright suspicious.

JMO.

Do you know EP’s age? Has he never met Evelyn?

Exactly how I’m feeling! I have been so back and forth about what I think. IMO I think the difference between this case and others like it is that this seems to be All In The Family. They all seem to be involved, not just the mom. I have no idea.
These cases do that to me all the time. I get so involved, I’m angry sometimes and I am usually a happy person! It affects all of us, especially when it involves a child! Prayers for finding sweet Evelyn alive and well!

What has he been charged with??

According to a separate news release from the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office, both McCloud and Angela Boswell were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and are currently held without bond on fugitive warrants. Their first court appearance is set for Monday.

(AB is also being held on a probation violation for theft out of the Kingsport General Sessions Court. I've seen posts that WM also had an outstanding warrant but no MSM link for this that I'm aware of).

It a very big, very rural county. I don't know how else I can convey that this is not odd here, so I'm just going to sit back and shut up now.
Don't you dare shut up!!

Yet... it probably IS a crime of some sort to leave your infant with someone you are so certain would run off with and/or harm your baby, that you don’t even bother trying to get her back. She clearly knew the sort of person she (allegedly) left her baby with. Would you leave your child or pet or anyone with someone you were so afraid would steal them that you just didn’t give a rip when they wouldn’t give her back?? I wouldn’t.

Of course, to be willing to defend any of this nonsense, I’d have to believe MB’s story and I just don’t. The police don’t seem to, either. I believe MB knows where Evelyn’s remains can be found. MOO.

I don’t want this to be the truth. But it did work for Casey Anthony.

I was talking to my hubby about it earlier. I hope whoever did this doesn't walk because 1) seems to be a group family thing so LE will never know exactly which one is at fault. 2) No body, no crime.

Time is so very important in a missing child case. So much so that here in PA they have introduced the Nalani Johnson rule.
'Nalani Johnson Rule' would amend Amber Alert system in Pennsylvania, with alerts issued sooner

Reportedly, Sheriff is taking the word of the babysitter over MB that baby last seen on Dec 10, 2019. I'm thinking the babysitter must be far removed from the family -- perhaps a daycare center? I don't think Sheriff has elaborated about this...

Don't you dare shut up!!

O/T I'm good. Just needed a brief time out. I was up until 5 am sleuthing this case, so I'm overly cranky and short tempered today.

Cut us a break, El Gato...we're still trying to figure out what exactly the facts ARE here. Such a slave driver, you are...sheesh.

We'll agree to disagree. I'm willing to treat the mother as a victim just as I treated Faye Swetlik's mother as a victim. We have no idea where the baby is or if she is safe and that's my priority.

The Sheriff said the law in TN gives unmarried mothers full custody. That means she can leave her child with whomever she wants for however long she wants. That person obviously betrayed MB's trust.

That alone speaks volumes to me. Just sayin'.
