I have a feeling that the Gary Hughes rumors and the articles saying that rabid SM groups are interfering in the investigation might be linked. There may have been some witch hunts from fb detectives thinking that someone posted photos with a completely unrelated child that looked like Evelyn, and LE was forced to investigate. JMO. He should know better than to have posted an unsubstantiated rumor, especially in a case like this where “known knowns” are few and far between. MOO.

Sometimes MSM and others are so eager to get the “scoop” they rush to publish before they get confirmation.

Trust, but verify.

Tonight’s livestream has been postponed to 11pm EST. The topic du jour is “WTF: What The Flip! A mixed bag of crazy stories” Join in. We promise Boo won’t actually steal your soul... This time. Websleuths Radio Podcast

I hate that I'm going to have to miss this. I have pulled so many all nighters in this case, I feel like I'll have a damned stroke if I don't sleep soon.

Address Baby Evelyn Rumor Post and Discuss Corona Virus

i dont listen to hughes or whatever his name is, i don't get his style of reporting and thats ok we just dont agree in life it happens

but what surprised me when i watched that video is he doesn't seem to understand what influence he has on people and this online crime community, he is right though people shouldn't take rumours and run with them as well so there is a little bit going both ways there

it was a stupid rumour anyways the reporters would have been all over a tip like that if true its why we dont have rumours here on WS i guess

I can’t stand this guy.

I also don’t watch any youtube channels that only special paid members can see certain content. Not doing it. They get paid via ads etc. My views should be enough

He also seems *really* thin skinned for someone who live streams themselves talking for two hours or whatever.

“I made a mistake and I was wrong.”

Some people are just incapable of saying that these days.

All I can say is the FB groups are a real crap show. All the loons are out attacking people not even involved with this case or trying to earn their 15 minutes of fame. It’s horrifying.
Yet, Poor Evelyn is still missing & her family does NOTHING to find her.
It’s pretty clear to me by now, this beautiful baby is no longer on this earth and people closest to her are in CYA mode. sickening!

That baffled me. SO many babies look alike at that age. They all still have their round faces, many still have light hair, many still have blue eyes. That was quite the accusation to run with. This case just keeps blowing my mind more and more as we go along.

He’s in the Facebook group now, defending himself. Which is really just making it worse. And keeps the rumor at the forefront of everything. What a mess this is.

Are those FB discussion groups as vial on other cases as they are this one? I am kind of new to this.

I agree! We've heard a couple people speak, but it is basically a blame game bc this family seems to have so much animosity toward each other! AB has been out of jail almost 24 hours and, as far as I know, she still hasn't taken the opportunity to do an interview and plead with the public about bringing that baby home. Many families have children missing, but their cases are not as big as this one, so they don't have the media "on hand" like this family. But since many of the individuals tied to EB KNOW what happened, they are not using the media to their advantage like many families of missing children do or would! IMHO

She was probably advised to keep quiet. I don’t know if I can blame her for that. Anything she says will be dissected 5000 ways and reported 5885378 times to the tip line.

Very rarely. Most have admins monitoring them and working hard to keep things from going this far south, especially the ones that are a “core” group that make other sub groups for the different cases. They are a lot like WS, in that it’s a lot of the same members on each case, all the same admins, all the same rules. The issue here is the size of the groups paired with them being free for all/anything goes.

I can't recall a case where the reward was collected by a tip that broke the case. I get why rewards are offered since it could happen and it does help keep the case in the news but it seems like most missing kids are found either after a suspect talks or a civilian stumbles upon a body. Even searches don't pan out too well.

It infuriates me when those close to the missing child not only don't give LE information but actually lie with ever-changing stories. And Evelyn's case has me seeing red. An attention-seeking mother who tells whatever lies catches her fancy, a grandmother who is busy breaking the law instead of cooperating with LE, males who may or may not know more than they are telling.

Was Evelyn so insignificant in their lives that her disappearance becomes a game of "how do I keep from going to jail?" Argh!!

If I recall correctly, Elizabeth Smart was rescued by a tip. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and I haven't looked it up so I could be incorrect, but I think she was spotted by a couple who recognized the kidnapper with her when they were outside. She was wearing a mask on her mouth, I think? I also don't recall if they received reward money, but I hope so. They were responsible for getting her home.

Yes I think she was...but then she was easier to identify than a baby or toddler...and they had her out in public, which is probably not usual for kidnappers, I would think.

Did the teenage girl who jumped out of Jeffrey Willis's van ever get the $10,000.00 reward money? She was the reason Jessica
Herringa's abductor/murderer was captured...charged and convicted.
Brave girl.

absolute best case scenario

evelyn was brokered in a private adoption, cash in hand and given a new identity.

if this was the case she would have been with her new family for close to 2 months in which time i have no doubt the new parents would have bonded deeply with her.
Now imagine that at the time of the adoption these people were not aware for the origins of this child, i wonder if they would willingly come forward with the baby if her new identity has not been questioned, from their perspective this child was unwanted by her mother and is now in a loving and probably financially stable home so even if they suspect the child is actually Evelyn why would they come forward risking charges for an illegal adoption and losing the child the have come to see as their own at this point.

i do not see a couple who willing chose to take such steps to obtain a child would necessarily come forward to protect the Boswell women and if a broker was involved then it is possible that MB and AB do not know who that family is.

Perhaps the BMW was supposed to be AB's cut of the money but when Snr alerted authorities MB could not use the money to pay for the car as it would raise questions as to how she obtained that kind of cash

I know its a long shot and more than likely this child has been lost to everyone but i want to hope and believe that Evelyn is alive.
