The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said they will continue to share updates in the search for Evelyn Boswell that are not related to documents sealed by a grand jury, and they pleaded with the public to stop sharing false information.

"Many of the rumors being circulated have been sent to us time after time during this investigation. On Saturday, I fielded calls regarding a post that had been made over the weekend in a Facebook group stating Evelyn had been found. Obviously, we will communicate any major development to the media, and it won’t come from a Facebook group in Oregon," said Captain Andy Seabolt.

As of Monday morning, Seabolt said there have been no new developments in the case. He announced Sunday that documents related to the case had been sealed.

“The court documents pertaining to the case (search warrants, etc.) are sealed per an order from Judge Jim Goodwin,” Seabolt said. “We cannot speak regarding any evidence that may have been collected.”

Anyone think he could have given the tip to tell LE where to find pillow and styrofoam and maybe he's better off staying in there away from AB? Idk.. im just curious who told them where to search at that trailer...

I have a feeling there are quite a few people who would be better off staying away from AB. After reading the USA Today article yesterday, you would think men would run away as fast as they could after hearing her history. Yet it looks like she continues to find more. Her children are the ones I really feel sorry for as they did not choose her for their mother.

So if she is charged for lying to LE in the disappearance of Evelyn and found guilty she can be later charged with murder or manslaughter if more evidence is found?

Yes, the false reporting charge is for the act of lying to LE during questioning. That’s why LE doesn’t usually bring charges like child abandonment or something when they really want a murder charge because you risk it being considered the same “act.”

BBM IMO if they empaneled a grand jury they are putting together a murder case. People really shouldn’t leak information from a grand jury proceeding. On the Federal level it’s a crime to disclose grand jury materials.

What I am worried about is a murder case with no body. Thats going to be hard to prove, unless they know something they cannot share but alas the Amber Alert is still active

Grand juries can be empaneled for years or they can be released and a new one empaneled later when more evidence comes up. It’s a way to investigate to lead to an indictment. Usually you hear about it after someone is arrested and the prosecutor quickly goes to a grand jury and gets an indictment. But in complicated cases they can be an investigative tool. I guess I was just surprised they were using one- maybe because the case is so high profile they want all the procedural protections to ensure they will not be questioned later about jumping the gun.

I continue to be baffled by this. These are adults that should know everything they read on SM isn’t true without verification. Yet even today there is a local story flooding FB because it “might” be related to the case. More than likely it was a chase related to drugs that crossed into TN from VA, yet it is spreading like wildfire with zero actual facts. SMH

When I saw this in the news this morning, it did make me wonder. The wording was just beyond weird. But, like you, I came to the conclusion that it probably wasn't related. Likely a stolen vehicle or something like that.
