TBsr and jr will both get their reward money returned; given towards the "safe return home" of Evelyn. There will be no problem paying for a little grand baby's funeral. I don't think TBsr is trying to drum up money for the funeral. I think, in this case, "arrangements" means time, place, music, eulogist(s), discuss burial location, etc. Jmo.

IIRC, they had "pledged" those monies. I agree, they aren't expecting to drum up donations and I think Papaw will make sure little Evelyn has a beautiful service. :(

What if, just hear me out here, the DNA comes back and does not match EP's? Literally just a hypothetical...but nothing would surprise me anymore with this case. MOO.

That’s been rumored as a possibility because who knows with MB. Someone with more knowledge of the technicalities would have to weigh in. I’ve been assuming MB has no say, but maybe that’s not even the case?

But if EP isn’t the bio father, he doesn’t have a claim because he also wasn’t involved much at all, from what we know. I’m guessing the real father would have to come forward and want to be declared as such.

Short of that, I’m guessing it’s either MB, TBSr, or AB. TB is probably the only one with the funds for a legal fight. Unless AB’s dad has deep pockets?

The show of love and support has not gone unnoticed. The family appreciates the prayers memorials and love that been shown for Evelyn. In such a dark time, it shows there are loving people out there, and all we want is Justice for Evelyn, and whoever is responsible to pay for the crime.

The Boswell family would like to reach out to Ethan Perry and his family for all arrangements for sweet Evelyn. There has been lots of hate, threats and lies thrown at members of the family not involved in the disappearance of Evelyn and the family would like to keep the ceremony for family and close friends due to that.

EP's family might feel the community feels this is also their child and want them to participate in her funeral.
I doubt if they would have to pay a dime for it with this community.

Tommy Boswell Sr's family says they are grieving over Baby Evelyn

I see your point, but not even confirming it's Evelyn is unheard of. I'm disgusted with these judges and LE keeping everything hidden from the very people that pay their salary. When I followed the CA case everything was released and had no effect on the outcome of the investigation or the trial. I guess tptb don't want all this public interest. If I sound PO'd it's because I am. I might as well try and drum up some interest in Taylor Williams case as the information has finally started coming out after waiting too long on that one too.IMO

public curiosity does not outweigh the integrity of the case. We owe the public justice and a fair trial, not just answers because they want them. That’s what the taxpayer pays for.

Also not sure CA is the best case to use as an example of nothing going wrong...

I don't think there is any reward money to return is there?
I thought they were pledges?

You're right. I do now remember that was how it was set up. At any rate, I wasn't in agreement when some said pledging was easy if you know you're not going to have to pay what you pledged. I just have a feeling that TBsr and jr pledged what they knew they could pay. But that's jmo, of course.

Hey, whatever, we each have our own opinions. And watching Trish on youtube right now she is in full agreement with me. We love the Sunshine!! JMO

If the "excluding AB" is a later insert directed by the immediate Boswell family, it might be an afterthought that came up because of something in the past that took place between AB, MB and EP. EP might not agree to have anything to do with anything if AB was involved, imo. There might have been very "bad blood" between AB and EP iow.

...Or, they've had time to put their own timeline together and have been speculating and remembering details they thought meant nothing at the time but now answer questions they had. Maybe they've realized that AB knew, for quite awhile, that Evelyn was gone... and maybe had even more involvement than just knowing, but participating in some way after her death.

Yes, I'm sure he is being protective of his daughter but he also gave us some valuable information. AB made it sound like she had been estranged from MB and they had not had a chance to talk much about Evelyn because she thought she needed time or something like that.

Yet in the previous two weeks she and MB and Hunter were hanging out with her at his house every day. It's hard to believe they spent all that time together and did not once talk about what happened to Evelyn, where she was or what they should do about it.

Could be talking about alibis? IMO

I find it hard to believe that she is saying the rights of the public to know what's going on in a case like this is more important than protecting the integrity of the investigation to ensure that justice is served. Websleuths has always been supportive of LE and their efforts to protect crucial information from being made public.

No, I think he is inadvertently giving us information that directly refutes claims made by both his daughter and MB.

I think it was in reference to having cameras in the court rooms. Not a reference to having all info being released to the public right away.

It was the public's right to know if the victim was indeed Evelyn. I know I got upset at the message earlier today from Sullivan County District Attorney General Barry Staubus when the identity was not revealed. I certainly understand protecting the integrity of the case, but not verifying the identity was not acceptable. So glad the TBI verified Evelyn as the victim later in the day.

Yes, they did verify her identity on the same day the report was completed. I think it was a reporter who implied they were keeping the identity "secret."

Wow. It's not so unusual that the COD and MOD are sealed but I thought at the very least, they would confirm her identity. They're not even doing that. MOO

Judge seals autopsy records of remains thought to be Evelyn Boswell
The move will make secret information about the identity and cause of death of the body...
Since I'm new to this, and catching up on my reading, is there a usual reason or legal reason they wouldn't even confirm her identity?
Thank you in advance for schooling me ;)

I think people misunderstood the state filing a request to seal the records they were going to file in court and got upset at the motion. It’s different than the defense asking for a gag order. If you don’t file something under seal anyone can access the docket (either online or in the courthouse depending on the state) and get a copy UNLESS you seal it. We routinely see arrest warrant affidavits redacted so I don’t think it’s much different than what we’ve seen elsewhere.

There was no mention of cameras in the courtroom. I was referring to the OP (an attorney) explaining why it's important to protect the integrity of an investigation, and the response to that.

Not that I'm aware of, unless they are waiting for a DNA match or something like that.
As soon as they found the body LE said they believed it was Evelyn's "remains" and that she was found in the exact same clothes she was last seen in. They never denied it was Evelyn, they were just waiting for confirmation from the autopsy. It's just a matter of it being "official." That's all.
