MP himself has stated his psyche for the past 8 months was thinking Gail was off with friends or somebody. He also stated he would wait till they find the Jeep.. Seems he didn't have MM out looking for any jeep that may have gone off the mtn..JMHO

Highway, briefly, around 1215 hours. Driver # 1 then drove down
Hampton Road to East Brow Road.
Driver # 1 then went over the bluff near where Vehicle # l, and the
remains of Driver # 1, were found-
This last event occurred between 1226 hours and l238 hours on
Saturday, 04-30-11.
For the purposes of this report, I will use 1227 hours, on Saturday,
04-30-11,as an estimated time of the crash.

I'd like to hear it from the kids, because kids usually tell the truth if they haven't been brainwashed. Of course, we'll never hear it from them unless it's years from now.

WITNESS STATEMENT made by Mary E. (lives across the street from crash site)

"I cannot be completely sure of the exact date or the time of day (but to the best of my recollection it was on the weekend of April 30th – May 1st) last spring when I heard a horrific sound outside my home. I know it was just days before my husband and I left for Roswell, GA to visit our grandchildren on May 5 – 8th. I was in the master bedroom located in the back of my home when I heard a sound like crashing of metal, the extended sound of screeching tires, and then a rumbling sound and a loud bang. Concurrent with those sounds I also heard the sound of a car pulling into our drive then backing out and driving away. My husband was asleep and I awakened him however, he hadn’t heard anything. I walked into our living room to look out our front window to see if an accident had occurred in front of our house. This was an extraordinarily loud noise and one we do not usually hear yet everything looked in order and there was nothing to be seen.

After returning home from Roswell we had a busy week that included a trip to Nashville at midweek. It was not until the following week after our trip to Nashville that my husband was looking out the window to the brow and noticed that one of the rocks (resembling the profile of a bear) on the landing was missing. My first inclination when he said that was “I’ll bet those noises I heard several weeks ago were some vandals taking one of our rocks!” We think when my husband noticed this it was on a Thursday May 19 because that afternoon our lawn service (Dawson Lawn Service) came to cut our lawn and my husband went out to the landing where they were working to ask if they noticed when the rock had gone. At that time the lawn worker pointed out to him where there were tire tracks that stopped a few feet from the edge of the brow and made the comment that whoever hit the rock and pushed it off was lucky because it looked like they stopped just in time. We also didn’t see any indication that the shrubs just near the edge of the brow had been disturbed. No one came by our house inquiring about any accident that might have happened. We thought no more about it because there have been several occasions where we have observed high chassis pick-up trucks on our landing and leaving tire marks in the grass.

My neighbor Charles H. called me Tuesday morning (Dec. 1, 2011) and asked if I knew that people were on my landing investigating the disappearance of Gail Palmgren the lady who was missing. Then the sound I had heard earlier in the year and the missing rock began to make sense and I informed the detectives of what I knew."

Mrs. Epperson says that when she looked out the window after hearing all the noise, nothing was amiss. Maybe that bear-shaped boulder isn't visible from her window; certainly she would have noticed it missing.

Reminds me of Scott Peterson.

Never once does he take any responsibility for Gail's state of mind, as if he was behaving normally while she was slowly going mad. But that's not the case because he was living a double life. I kept wondering why John Madewell didn't ask whether MP felt any guilt over marital mistakes as part of Gail's state of mind, but the question never came. I have a hunch these questions were submitted to his "team" in advance and they threw out anything that might need a show of remorse on MP's part. No questions about the adultery, for instance.

I found the smiling very strange, but I think it's a nervous habit. I noticed he smiled when he was talking about people he disliked, such as Arlene. So it bothers me that he also smiled when talking about Gail's "tragic accident," as if he was somehow so lucky that it was ruled as such.

I could say a lot more, but I'll just stop there.

I didn't follow this case so I don't know the particulars of the case but, I am wondering if gail knew someone on that road or stopped for some reason and had just began to "drive" again. iirc the speed limit there is 30mph and it would appear to me that she was picking up speed as if she was just taking off "again" and she could have been trying to put her seatbelt on when she veered to the left and then "overcorrected" to the right when she hit the rock and continued on. jmo for now

That's another question I wish John Madewell had asked during the interview on Channel 9:

Why do you think Gail was on that particular road that day? Where was she going?

But the attorneys probably threw out that question, if Madewell ever had it on the list.

I don't want to cut MP any breaks, but since there are always two sides to a relationship, and thus, two stories, I wonder what came first. Did he start fooling around and that drove Gail into a fragile mental state, or did she start breaking down and then he sought comfort with other women? Maybe it doesn't matter--I guess cheating on one's spouse is never really justified.

Or maybe it's totally goofy for me to even be thinking along these lines.

While I doubt very much that MP is unhappy that Gail is dead, I don't believe he arranged it. I can put this down to a bizzare accident. Either that, or that maybe some unconnected random person hit her from behind and panicked and fled, especially if she was driving too slowly and someone got "road rage." Was it mentioned if her car had any rear-end damage?

Lots of rear end damage, but the report comes to the conclusion that it was a one car accident.

So if a random person (perhaps the car that Mrs. Epperson heard turning around in her driveway) hit Gail from behind, his or her car must have sustained front end damage, and would possibly have been taken to a local shop for repairs. Wonder if any car mechanics remember a vehicle with red paint scrapes (I'm assuming) on a crashed-in front end?

The Jeep had extensive rear end damage and very little front end damage... in fact I was surprised to read on page 11 that the front headlights / turn signals were completely intact - no broken glass/plastic, unbroken filaments.
