Arlene: Gail confronted Matt on Apr 26th when Matt called her. She told him she was going to divorce him, had proof, had a PI, argued about who was getting what, Matt said to his gf on the way back from Pennsylvania he was going to get all the cash out of the accounts.
*snip*
Arlene: Matt was supposed to be in Minn but went to Penn instead to buy Tammy a car.
Arlene: Gail told Matt you're not getting anything, the house, the kids, the money, nothing. Gail panicked when Matt came home early on Apr 29th.
Well this all makes sense. MP has been interested in the money from day one, although at first many people said that was natural, but to me it isn't, not with a missing wife. Lots of cases use insurance money as a motive, for instance, and in this case, there were large sums in Gail's bank accounts.
And the fact that he with his girlfriend when threatening to take all the money (while driving home in her new car from Pennsylvania) explains why she needs a defense attorney. :maddening:
Arlene: Gail was going to hire an attorney in Alabama.
So I guess that confirms she didn't have one yet, and therefore had not filed any legal papers.
Why couldn't Arlene get all this out weeks ago? The haphazard way this information is coming out just bothers me.
Arlene: Says Matt's PI Mike Mathis used to work for Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. (My note: He didn't. He worked for approx 27 years for CHATTANOOGA Police Dept. It's all over the internet.)
I cut her some slack on that. I've seen him listed as working for almost every agency, and originally the rumor was he was an ex-cop from the Signal Mt. PD. Since all of these entities work together sometimes, as in this case, I can understand the confusion.
(I live in the East County and where all the city borders come together we are patrolled by the Chattanooga Police, Ham County Sheriff's Dept, and the Collegedale police. You can drive over the railroad tracks and be in another jurisdiction, turn a corner and be in a third.)
SMM: Tammy hired an attorney because she's received numerous threats.
Well, I don't know if I believe that . . . I think she's in deep poo-poo and she knows it.
SMM: Gail talked to family members and police all the way home telling them someone was following her. (My note: Huh? And LE didn't come out to follow Gail and catch them?? REALLY??? And none of those relatives did anything for 48 hours? REALLY??? Wowzer.)
SMM: Gail called police and told them Matt wasn't at the house, and for LE to call Matt and tell him the kids were there, and then Gail speeds off. (My note: this is great! Then Gail MUST have told LE where she was going!)
(My note: You CAN NOT find a missing person by making up your own stories about what happened to them. You might sell more books that way, but you sure as heck won't find the missing person. Poor, poor Gail.)
Three letters: TBI
Three more letters: FBI
Also this: Diving in the Tennessee River?
If anyone knows where Gail is, they wouldn't be calling in higher LE and using their resources. They wouldn't be searching the River. No way.
They aren't going to create a smokescreen to protect Gail, imo.
Now it's true that Gail might have told them where she was going. But it's pretty clear (at least to me) that she never made it there. :twocents:

ETA: Not a single mention of what the Sheriff said day before yesterday:
"There's nothing at this point to indicate that anything nefarious has occurred," Hammond told Channel 3.

The police say that in every one of these missing cases. Again: TBI. FBI. River Search.
Something happened. :twocents:
