This really is strange if mother and brother could not stop this. I wouldn't care if they had a knife or a gun they'd take my daughter over my dead body.

There has to be more.

Has it been confirmed that it was the mother that saw this? The reason I ask is I've seen it reported that the brother and a woman police didn't want to identify (who I was thinking might be the neighbor like originally reported?) and then I've also seen it reported that it was her mother and her brother.

If he has a gun, shouldn't LE warn the community of that? Assuming that a man takes a girl at random, blood is found, etc...I don't think they should hold back if they were told by family it was at gunpoint (which I don't think it was-with blood in the carport, maybe a knife?)

Does anyone know the statistics on these types of abductions? This case breaks my heart. There is such a strong sense of support from the community.

Throwing this out there, prob. a long shot.............

I wonder if the abducter was an obsessed fan of Whitney Duncan and tracked down Holly, knowing they were related.
I hope LE is checking into any stalker mail, sent to Whitney...

I have seen it reported as a neighbor myself...

also her mother is a elementary teacher from other reports I have read (sorry read so many I will have to bring back a link) but her mother could have left for work already..

I know that in the presser the dad said that it had to be someone close that knew their routines... when they were home... etc...

I am thinking both parents could have been gone to work?

It really is a God-thang that her brother saw it out the window and called 911 right away

This case is reminding me a lot of Jet Duncan... in other words I am getting the stalkish vibe going on ((eta: obsession/covet, etc))

Did this happen at Hollys parents house (meaning she still lived with her parents)?

What I find odd is there is no mention of the dogs picking her scent up, especially so soon after she was taken.
I am going to see if I can find a map that may show trails and such around that area.......

In the raw interview video, Dana Bobo said that he & his wife had already left for work yesterday morning before Holly was abducted. I think the other news article misreported. According to DB, Holly's mother wasn't home.

I would also think if the brother KNEW the person, he would have recognized them. So it must have been someone Holly knew, but her family didn't.

Some places have said that the brother tried to intervene and the abductor said he would kill Holly if the brother didn't let them go. I guess that'd make a little more sense?

The raw interview was really hard to watch - especially when Holly's mother collapsed near the end and had to be held up by her husband. It breaks my heart to see another family going through this.

I hope LE finds Holly soon - and finds her safe & sound.

If his face was covered with a mask though then the brother might not have been able to recognize if it was someone he'd seen before or not. The mask theory would also make since because the description (white male wearing camo..) is so vague (no hair color, facial hair, etc).

bbm, ITA Ms F

so the perp goes up to the door with intent dressed in camo

than drags her into the woods

he has premeditation here.. a hideout.. stashed his vehicle, etc.

he also does something to her to make her bleed on the carport .... so there should be some sort of blood trail or at least scent trail that would lead to somewhere you would think. I truly hope that LE has a whole lot more than they are sharing.

I also am thinking of the Mackenzie Cowell case here... someone she could have run into at school that was obsessed with her. Was he not planning on brother being home that morning? We do not know much about the brother (where he works, goes to school etc).

This seems very highly planned though... for the perp to be dressed for the occasion to blend into the woods and than drag poor Holly right into them.

I agree that the further lack of physical description is strange.. could it be his vantage point from the window?

Early reports I read on the news said they found a knife and a cell phone near the woods or carport... I know I saw that on a early news report.. Im sure the blood came from the knife... probably her cell phone dropped as she was being taken... she was probably trying to call for help but they didn't say whos cell phone it was or anything futher about finding these two things

this is so confusing....I just wish we could get an accurate account of what happened and who was really at the home at the time of the event...It's just so sad for this poor girl. It sounds like she was possibly being stalked, probably some wacko she didn't even know was watching her....IMO. Criminals don't usually change their MO....meaning a thief would not become a kidnapper usually. Why take a victim? Especially if he hadn't already stolen something, the offenses are so completely different in the court system.

Ok so I have found the property maps of the property.

http://www.assessment.state.tn.us/SelectCounty.asp

Select Decatur county. Put in Bobo in owner name, hit search, select Dana bobo, 618 Swan Johnson Rd. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "View GIS map for this parcel. " You can zoom in and out on the map and move it around.
If you look real close you can see all kinds of trails and such meandering around through the trees. There is one in specific if you go towards the back of the property further out it actually connects back to Swan Johnson Rd heading North East I believe.........

Aerial images of the Bobo home taken from an online news report. Kind of grainy, but it helps orient the home/barns to the map.

Is this the school she was attending http://www.utm.edu/departments/ecce/parsons.php#courses ? If it is, I don't think the campus is very big at all. It's a satellite campus for UT Martin. According to these Parsons City Council meeting minutes from 2008, at the time they had 150 students.

Hopefully LE has, or is, checking to see what students/faculty were not in attendance the day Holly was abducted. It would at least be a way to rule out if someone from the school that may have been obsessed with her was involved.

Also, has anyone read whether or not Holly had a job? That could be another place someone could have come into contact with her.
