She's pretty small......and depending on if he had a weapon to subdue her and make her go along.......who knows?

One article said a search dog had to be carried, it was so dense. So he may have had to carry her, but how far would he want to be from his car, if so?

I saw it, it was very short. Mark Furman basically said nothing makes sense, too many rumors. The dogs picked up no scent of any kind where the brother said they went into the woods. He was questioning the brother's whole story.

I don't know about this one myself....all the info coming out turns out to be rumors and more rumors. Officials are giving any info. I would like to hear the 911 call. I don't know what's going on, but there is something missing from this whole story. IMO
If Furman is questioning the brother's story does that mean I can too??? Very, very odd to me that the dogs did not pick up her scent. A grown man waiting an hour to call 911 under the circumstances has me a bit perplexed as well. Also....if her captor is someone that was stalking her then SURELY he was aware of the brother. Seems risky to kidnap her when her brother was at home yet.....the perp was able to do it no probleemo:waitasec:.

I wonder if the brother passed a LD test; otherwise I don't know how LE can rule anyone out, when they don't really know what happened and he is the only eyewitness.

Do we know if there is a place he could have parked a car near those dense woods by Holly's house? It doesn't make much sense if he had to take her a long ways to get to a car, she could have broken free and run, or someone could have been in the woods. If no car, it seems like he did not have much of a plan, but so far has been "lucky".

This brown area is believed to be Holly's house. Based on photos in the media, some people here have determined that the carport would have been on the north end of the house...and the direction the perp would have LIKELY travelled would be north through these woods. That would allow him to simply come out of the woods right on Swan Johnson Rd, northwest of the house......where he could have stashed a vehicle along the road. You can see how the road cuts back to the left.....so, really, he wouldn't have had to spend much time in the woods at all. Remember he had an hour before anyone even called LE. MOO.

Sure does make one think. Brother was home......was perp aware? We know nothing about the brother - does he have a usual time of leaving home for work (?), etc.

But wouldn't he have had to carry her, most likely? It looks so incredibly dense...or maybe he just pushed her along?
I can't get past a dog needing to be carried :(
And if he did have a car...well the lunchbox may well have been on the side of the road, which isn't much of a clue...they could be anywhere. No one knows what kind of car to be watching for.

Members of law enforcement said more personal items of Bobos' were found today, but they would not give specifics on what was found.

"It was some significant information they had that led them to believe that it was a good area to look for new evidence," said Mayor Michael Smith of Decatur County

this is besides the lunch box. LE is keeping everything so tight lipped. Makes me think they know who may have her. She supposedly is a hunter, so hopefully she knows the woods. i hate to think of her out in the cold again tonight.....Lord, please keep her safe and our prays for Holly and her family....

News articles state he was in bed, saw her walking arm in arm with her boyfriend towards the woods, and thought nothing of it. Only later...when neighbor called about hearing screams and when he found her car in the garage and blood there as well, did he freak out and call the boyfriend. The bf said he had been at work the whole time....so her brother immediately called 911 from that point.

Errr- I guess I missed any articles saying they walked off "arm in arm"?

Really wonder WHERE the items were located.....beside the main road or in the woods somewhere??
If, like the lunchbox, they were found beside a main road I'm afraid that isn't much of a clue....and could just be the perp dumping her belongings or even trying to throw LE off base. MOO.

Oops..."He had an arm holding her'. I meant to imply that the brother thought it was the boyfriend....not someone 'dragging her out of the carport' as first reported. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20054470-504083.html
Also reported: "On Friday, Mehr (LE) clarified that she was being held by the hand or arm, but not in a forceful manner." http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-04-15-tennessee-abducted-woman.htm

Coming in late to this case. Read some of the thread today, but then got sidetracked with RL stuff. Can an awesome WSer give me a synopsis and update? And, what was the lunchbox that was found?

TIA!!

:bump:

Right, if the lunchbox was beside the road, could mean they're long gone in a vehicle. If it was back in the woods somewhere might mean he kept trekking her through the woods. If it's beside the road could have dropped while he was shoving her in vehicle.

Daisy,

I don't really know that we know much more than we knew earlier this morning.

They have confirmed that they found HER lunchbox, but won't say where. They also just confirmed that they found other items that are hers....but, again, won't say where or what. BUT, because of that recent find, they moved their search about 12 miles from her home and have volunteers scheduled to show tomorrow morning at 7am. Say they have no suspects, but also say that brother and boyfriend are not suspects.

Well.....okay then.....LE has ruled those two out.

Dunno if you've heard the RUMORS about the 'exboyfriend who threatened her'.....
She's been dating her current boyfriend since last August....quite some time since any past boyfriends. I would think....if someone from her past was seriously threatening her....they would have acted much earlier. I also feel like this would be a SIMPLE case if there were some ex in the wings who was also missing and who had a history of threatening her.....so, I'm not sure I believe that rumor. MOO.

I'm baffled about if they have an idea who this is, why they haven't put out a description and vehicle, even if not the name. It is kind of an Amber Alert situation, if they know who it is and he owns a car.

I'm worried that if they DON'T know who it is, or if the person that they may have suspected is accounted for, that they are long gone.
