"Nothing is the same, and I don't feel like anything will be the same without Holly," Karen said. "I still feel like there is somebody out there who knows something, but isn't telling it. It may be something normal, something they have not previously realized would be important."

What do all of you make of the above comment? Do you think Karen has received info. that LE is investigating a viable suspect(s)? Or do you think they have nothing?

To me, it is just a generic statement, hoping someone will remember for instance a red car they hadn't seen before, or something like that. Or that a friend they were supposed to meet for turkey hunting suddenly cancelled...just anything that did not strike them as particularly odd at the time?

Isn't odd that everyone panicked about Holly except Clint who was right there at the house? Mom had a panic attack and almost passes out. Holly's friend cries in class. Holly's teacher puts her head down because she knew what happened. The neighbour rushes to the house.

Clint? He's still looking for the turkey.:waitasec:

I haven't caught up yet (sorry) but I did not feel the revelations in the Jackson Sun were particularly earth-shattering, did anyone else? Glad to see it published to keep interest in the case alive, but Clint and the handgun, the order of the phone calls, the small puddle of blood, Drew's hunting regimen, and Holly's teacher having quickly found out about it - interesting it was so quickly - didn't really overthrow the established order.

Did I miss something?

I was also wondering how the teacher knew so soon but then thought that maybe Karen or someone called Holly's school to make sure Holly hadn't shown up by catching a ride with someone else? That is all I can think of to explain that.

I guess maybe there were 15 minutes in there where a call could have been made to the school and the teacher for purposes of finding if Holly were there, and the story of the disappearance might have been communicated, Struck me as damn odd though, why it would have needed to be communicated.

Time-saving version of phone call
Caller: Has Holly made it to class?
Teacher: No, not yet.
Caller: Okay thanks bye.

You're right. That is all that needed to be asked in a panic situation

From what I get from the new story in the paper, Clint seems to be ruled out, for lack of time alone. I do not see any way he could have injured/killed Holly, made her vanish, got that lunchbag across town, etc...once LE showed up, I think he would have been confined to quarters, more or less, answering questions.

At the college level? Seriously. :floorlaugh:

I guess that's one thing that gets under my skin about this case. Whenever the vicitm and her brother are discussed I'm oddly left with the feeling that we are talking about children, not grown adults. If Holly was 6 and Clint was 11 this case would make a lot more sense. JMO!

I taught college-level freshmen and sophomores full time for ten years, and yes, the school fielded such phone calls and passed them along to the teacher for reply. Strange but true.

I guess this is a small town, small school, small class...so probably not as unusual as it sounds to be able to get through to a college-level teacher so easily...JMO

You said it. Way smaller than the little school I taught in. Just a nursing program in a building and maybe a handful of night classes too.

Whoa. Thanks! Pretty amazed by that. Guess I'm not a helicopter parent!

Back on topic......

Did anyone else see any videos of what appears to be Holly other than the one in the car singing the Miley Cyrus song with her 2 friends?

What if Grandma didnt know it was Drew because it wasnt Drew? (or which ever family member didnt know who he was) How can a person who doesnt know you be sure it is you when you say it is?

Is wasnt just Drew hunting that morning it was Drew and Drews dad.

I'm glad I read this article. It does make the details of what happened that morning a little clearer. Hopefully it will put to rest the sport of trying to insinuate any involvement by the family. I don't know how they are coping with this. I honestly don't know if I could. It's so frustrating that new leads do not seem to be popping up. Come home soon, Holly.

Well, I'm only slightly less confused than I was before about this case.......

  • #958
Ok....now we need an article talking about the days leading up to the abduction.

That would be helpful. Which leads me to repeat... I had posted a question a little earlier if anyone had seen a video of what others say is Holly. No one else has seen it? Not sure if I am allowed to describe the video here.

I haven't. Maybe if you described it in only the most general of terms. Can't think what video you could be talking about. (I haven't even seen the karaoke one or whatever it is, in the car.)
