Because they literally live in the middle of nowhere:

Map

It's easy to see how nobody else was around to hear her.

Why didnt clint hear?
thats the big question?

Where do you think the "cousin" came from? Do you think JW made that up? Just curious.
I don't know. I don't know if John Walsh ever actually talked to Clint or heard him mention a cousin on the video. Could be the proverbial game of telephone between Walsh and his people who go out and do the interviews.

In the Somer Thompson case, AMW said that Somer carrying "this" lunchbox and bag, and they showed pictures of the lunch box and bag. That was interesting new information that was discussed here on WS. However, those weren't the exact items Somer had, merely renderings of how her mother had remembered them. So the info AMW gave on air wasn't correct.

I have read posts of people elsewhere that say that looking at these maps is misleading. That what seems to be a large distance isn't.
There are a lot more homes around there than you think.
All those houses on Arms Creek Rd, Myracle and side roads are within shouting distance, as the say. At most, are only a half a mile away as the crow flies.

thats the big question?

Because he was asleep. The dog going crazy woke him up. Just from my experience, I'm a heavy sleeper and I could sleep through a single noise like a scream but I can't sleep through the dog going nuts, barking and running around the house.

I live out in the country and I don't hear stuff a half mile away, especially not from in my house.

You've seen the layout of the house and garage-A-port now.
How could Clint have seen her kneeling on the floor with a person unless they were right there at the opening near the front of the vehicles?
And if they were that close, how could he not recognise them?
Why would he go through the garage-A-port, at all, when the straightest shot to the woods was just down the steps and across the lawn?

Is this the reason for the latest story edit?
To say it was LE who stumbled across the blood (spatters, specks, drops)?
Because it would be nonsensical to say he went out into where the cars were parked at all. But, necessary before when trying to explain why he was suddenly concerned that it might not be his good friend, her bf, DS.

You see the story has changed as the need arose, to whatever was expedient at the time.
The truth does not.
Those are good points. What I realized watching the show was that he was probably looking out the back door and was probably closer to the silhouetted people than I had guessed. But I still don't see it as proof that his story is invalid.

I live in the semi-country now, and have lived in the country pretty much all my life.
I could hear screams of kids playing, and gunshots ( from a gun club ), and traffic on the interstate from a mile away.

But, more than that. When you are inside someplace like a garage sounds are amplified. They reverberate. This is a wood frame house only 1300sq ft.
It seems unbeliveable that yelling enough to disturb the neighbors, evidently, wouldn't have awoken Clint.

You don't think if he heard people talking, saw them that close he wouldn't recognise his own sister?
Her blonde hair?
Her bright pink shirt?

He called his mom to find out that was his sister?
An unbelievable story in my estimation.

I agree with you!

Ok here is where i read she MAY have been abducted

Cops say Holly may have been abducted from her home in Decatur County, Tenn., at around 7:30 a.m. Her family says that's when she gets ready to leave for her classes in nursing school.

Thank you!

So they could just as easily say, " SHE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABDUCTED..."
in each one of these stories, then. That is the unspoken, but perhaps should be spoken, alternative.

Didnt he say before he grabbed his gun?

And you could legitimately wonder how he didn't see Holly's car in the garage.

All of this still doesn't add up to me suspecting Clint though. I'd definitely need something more.

Did AMW mention anything about the reward? Isn't this the case where the state added, iirc, a pretty large sum of money to the reward?

I understand what you're saying but you just confirmed my point. I don't think John Walsh would make something up. It had to have come from the family. In the example you posted regarding Somer, the mother was the one who gave that information as she remembered it. It's not incorrect information, imo. It's how a family relayed the information.

The same may have been done here. Clint may have said he thought it was Holly's BF or a cousin and that's what JW relayed to the public.

I don't think a reputable show like AMW watched by thousands....maybe even millions worldwide would just throw in misinformation out of thin air like that.

IMO

It was incorrect. Somer's mom just described she remembered it looked like to an artist but JW said it was a picture of the exact thing. Which could have been a very important thing to get wrong...if somebody had seen the actual lunch box but not reported it to authorities because it didn't really look like the one in the picture then it could have been an important tip. I just don't trust AMW any more than Nancy Grace to get info right and we know how much NG screws up important facts.

Holly's car?
What about Holly's car?

What about Holly's car?
Clint called his mom because he didn't think Holly was at home, that's why he assumed she was one of the silhouettes in the garage (i think he probably thought they were people there to work on the house or something). So he somehow must have not realize Holly's car was in the garage

I couldn't tell from the poor quality video on youtube, but, speaking of Holly's car, was
it used in the reenactments?

Oh, I see what you are saying.
Her car was supposedly right there according to Mom's finger pointing on the video the other day, but yet Clint couldn't see it parked right there either.

Good point!

So he would have us believe he didn't recognise her car OR his sister.

ETA:

Wait a minute!
Wasn't the spilled coke can found in the DRIVEWAY next to her car?
How come Mom is telling us her car was parked in the Garage-A-Port?

hmmm.
