It isnt TBI making the reports. It is media who wants to get a scoop and so reports erroneous information. I am not saying that the TBI is perfect or that they even are doing things right, but lets give credit here where credit is due. It is the freakin media who is getting the information all screwed up.

About a year ago, Dana spoke about her pink purse being missing. He said she had a camera, and car keys still not located. The media may have blended his remarks with the latest news. I know for a fact they do that stuff. I have called it on them before. I don't recall him saying a rhinestone "H" key ring though.

It is most unusual for TBI to release anything...and to show a photo? I am shocked. This is not their typical behaviour with this case. This photo looks like the bag was not buried but lying in the elements for a long time. It doesn't look to be leather either.

I'm thinking that it is in fact Holly's purse, It looks like holly's lavender purse (even though the color has faded a lot).

I believe Karen B. said that because she is still in a state of shock and by saying "no, that's not her purse" in my mind she's trying to lessen the pain she's feeling.

JMO.

I think you could very well be right. It just seems too much of a coincidence to me that a bag/purse of any kind would be found in the area where a young woman went missing, much less a bag that is so similar to hers.

How can we give credit where credit is due when we don't know who is telling the truth anymore?

I understand that we can't definitively go with everything the media says. But, I can't give TBI a whole lotta credit at the moment either. I was married to a hardworking police officer for many years so I don't blame LE very often at all. Unfortunately, something just isn't right here.

I think Karen B. does not want to believe that is Holly's purse.

I would like to know if there were things actually found in the purse.

Hopefully when it comes back from testing we will know more.

The problem I have with Karen saying that is TBI believes it and stopped the search. They have not chosen to continue. At some point, the family should have considered hiring an outside service like Equusearch. They choose not to do so. In fact, the only searching done in the area was by volunteers. This is an outrage. I will most likely get in trouble again but I have to question the reasons why they have not chosen to hire this investigation to outside agencies.

One would have to be in a major state of denial to not want to face this evidence, if it is true. After two years, a family, at some level would have to consider that their loved one may have passed on.

It is obvious that the local LE is not involved in this case at all and have turned it over to the TBI. $250,000 is one of the larger rewards to be seen in a missing person case that is not a celebrity. They keep saying the area is a tight knit community. That's an understatement! That kind of money would have brought information if there was some to give.

I'm thinking they are still in a major state of denial after two years.

They still believe she is alive and is being held somewhere.

I'll try and find a link

1. Mustn't forget the $250,000 is for Holly's return alive. No money for anything else.

2. Without media, no WS.

Is the church still holding the reward money? I can't recall. I know the first donations went straight to the family and heard other donations were for their daily living expenses. I know that the tiny community raised a large amount of money.

I can't understand Karen saying that the purse isn't Holly's if it really is.

I know already this may come out wrong (forgive me in advance) BUT...if it were my child and it wasn't their "purse", I would still say it was to make sure they kept searching.

That does not mean I blame Holly's family...because I don't AT ALL. Not even a little bit. They are most likely trying to be truthful and help the best they can. I am just sayin' that I would have done it differently (which probably makes me sound horrible). It would have gone like this--"Yup...that's her purse! Sure is!!" and then after they had searched for two weeks and found nothing "Oh, well...maybe that really isn't her purse. I must have been mistaken! I am so sorry I wasted y'alls time."

Honestly, I mean well but I am just being honest here. I would lie like a rug to get a search going again to find my baby!

As always, prayers for Holly...

Im not talking about the whole disappearance. Im only talking about this most recent thing with the purse. There is no way that TBI gave that info to the media. Someone from the media latched onto it and ran with it.

People can continue to give LE all the blame if it makes them feel better. I, for one, refuse to give the media a pass on this since it is pretty obvious to me what happened.

TBI's Kristen Helm clearly said they "believed" Holly's purse had been found by a neighbor's dog. That came straight from the source.

The source then turned around and said it was not the purse, based on Karen Bobo's ID of the bag.

These things were not misreported by the media.

I wish the Boston and NY LE were in Darden Tn when Holly disappeared...

I am ecstatic for the people of Boston and for LE...Yeah! for them. God Bless America!

My only explanation would be is that she is in a state of shock and is still in denial.

what are the odds, the purse is found a couple of days after the 2 year anniversary, one of her neighbor's dogs found it, it looks remarkably similar to the one Holly was last seen with etc.

I'm 99.9% sure they found her purse.

I feel for her family because they have hope that she is still alive holded up somewhere with her abductor (and she very well could be) but the chances of that statistically speaking are very slim at this point.

The community needs to take a breath with all these prayers and start doing something like hiring a search team. Of course this should have done at the start....and for the life of me, I can't figure out why they didn't. Are they that convinced that prayer alone will bring Holly home? Even God needs help sometimes.

Who else would have dropped a purse a mile away from the Bobo residence that looks remarkably similar if it's not Holly's purse?

It's Holly's purse..........

I know the family wants help in finding Holly but when her purse is found, her mother says "No, Not her purse".

If they want their daughter found, they need to be out of a state of denial.
