Might be right. 'Several days' is a variable that's not very precise. Still leaves room for him to have kept them alive for several days, although as hostages.

I'll go check to see if I can find exact date he was interviewed.

IIRC, he was interviewed Sunday...the same day LE was told about the Durango being abandoned. They were trying to find him again on Tuesday (May 1) to talk to him again because of false information, and he had booked.

Union County deputies say Mayes is a friend of the Bain family. Neighbors tell abc24 news he would frequently bring Jo Ann Bain's 3 daughters to his trailer home in Alpine, Mississippi. That's about 100 miles southeast of Memphis. Patterson says he's been living there for more than 2 years with a wife and his parents. She says one of the 3 Bain girls may have belonged to him.

"He thought one was but as far as actually knowing for sure he didn't,” said Patterson.

But Mayes would tell his friends all 3 were his daughters.

"He has pictures of them on his phone,” Miller said. “He made us all think that was his kids.

This is the second MSM reference I've seen to a wife who lived with him at the house where the bodies were found... I can't help but wonder if she could be one of the bodies given that she seems to be MIA.

But actually... I really hope there aren't more bodies somewhere :/ I mean where are his wife and parents? Why haven't we heard of/from them?

FREAKY! So he was telling the landlord that he "thought maybe" one of the girls was his, then telling his friends that all 3 were his kids. Sounds like he was good at making people believe he was harmless and nice. He painted very different scenarios for different people to view him how he wanted to be seen. Frightening sociopath behavior if you ask me.

If that is true and the 3 bodies rumor is true, my money is on wife and parents as dead bodies, and JB is still with him and the girls.

MOO

I'm thinking he is delusional. Especially if he believes all three girls are his and he's related to the family on GB's side. I know GB and JB were married 11 years, but do we know how long they were acquainted?

How much "grooming" of a set of doting parents does it take to allow a man, close friend or not, to take your three little girls to his home in another state for several days at a time. I think he has been grooming the parents for a long time, unless perhaps he is the father to the youngest child....IMHO

He was even good at deluding himself. I reserve the right to be really suspicious of anyone who doesn't recognize that having a big old mess of snarled hair like that on your chin makes you look like an absolute idjit. ;)

It's not quite a beard. Not quite a goatee. And it doesn't make him look like the warm, fuzzy type to me. He looks like his has a ratty, roadkill squirrel tail glued on his chin. :what:

I believe the TM on all their fb lists is AM's wife, same last name. According to whitepages with his Tn address, she has the same one and is listed as around 30. She posted on the kids pages, one under the smallest girl's pic, but her profile pic is gone.

Also up to this time the woman from that area on the fb newssite has been pretty right on track with the info.

HollyBlue was right. First interview was on Sunday, April 29th. The the initial warrant for AM was issued on May 1 for filing a false report:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/police-search-widens-missing-memphis-mom-daughters/story?id=16270151#.T6dJC-sqNDs

Officers told Memphis' ABC24 News that they'd brought in Bain family friend Adam Christopher Mayes, 35, of Guntown, Miss., for questioning on Sunday. On Tuesday, investigators issued a warrant for Mayes, charging him with filing a false report based on statements he'd made to investigators about the Bain family.

Same article also states that Mom hasn't used credit cards or her cell phone since they went missing on April 27.

According to a relative with the initials BF, on her FB page she states that JB and the girls didn't take anything with them but JB's purse and the durango. No phones taken.

I read that JB and the girls were reportedly discovered missing by husband on Fri am, anyone know what time he said?

I sincerely hope the husband has family support in the area. I hope he has someone to be with him day and night through this. I know we are not hearing much from him, but he must be in shambles with worry and upsetment. I cannot tell you how bad I feel for him as his world is crumbling in front of him.

I don't know about a sociopath, and I know he doesn't look like Josh Powell, but he sure has that dead pan, spacy look on his face that JP had.
Very troubled individual, imo.

Yep, that's her... and his original friend list was 29.... down to 25 the last time I checked. I really wonder if he had any kids with her, or his now "wife"...or any at all?

Edwards did confirm that the house belongs to Mayes' parents, but the suspect also lived there as well.

The sheriff added the bodies were found late Friday or early Saturday along the tree line in the backyard, in shallow graves.

Investigators say they don't know what contact the parents may have had with Mayes since he was last seen.

BBM- That statement from Sheriff Edwards makes me lean towards the bodies being the parents of AM.

Yeah, the whole thing is very odd. If it's true he's sold all his things recently, as neighbors reported, I wonder if he bought a vehicle between Ms and Tn. Maybe even a camper, like the father who took his children from the mother in Washington, I believe.
