I am so disgusted by this tragedy that I can not even put my thoughts into words in a meaningful way. It makes me feel foul just imagining what has/is going on. AM is the creepiest of creepy, one senses it just by looking at him.
I'd like to know how long the police originally questioned him for...seems LE should have seen some red flags just by checking family FB accounts! No? And exactly why was the Amber Alert so low key to begin with?
Sadly, placing any blame in any of those areas is just hindsight now and logically, I should only blame AM.

As far as the girls not looking alike.

My sister and I look different. I have dark dark brown hair and eyes.
She has blonde hair and green eyes. Looks just like my mom, I look just like my dad.
Yet some people still think we are twins. SO I'm not sure how this all relates, but the girls should still look something alike

I don't know the answer to that specific question, but I do know that if he is afflicted with Marfan Syndrome, it can affect the heart valves and muscles.

I think the oldest girl looked the most like her mother. The other two, not so much. I don't think his motive is pedophilia. It's been suggested he believed to be the father of at least one of the children. My guess is he was upset they were moving away.

I don't know if we'll ever know the whole story.

The only valid reason for analyzing these women's photos (to me) is for sleuthing the why's in the hope of figuring out where AM and the 2 girls are NOW, and what he may or may not do. JMO.

Per the question about why he took all four but killed two, there are many possibilities. It indicates to me that all four of the victims voluntarily left the home or were taken out of the home at gunpoint. If they voluntarily left, they might have met him along a road, where he might have waited under the false pretense that his car had stalled. They also might have driven him home. Since the girls were with mom, we can presume that the time for something like that to have occurred would have been in the morning after the girls were dressed and they were on their way to school. If he decided to take all four at gunpoint, he either thought that the mother would go along with his plan or had to take her so that she could not tell the father.
