Does John live in KY? How far from Dickson, TN?

Not much info. I'm wondering why he was driving a rental. (I'm sure there are many reasons but it struck me as...odd.)

Located! But arrested! At least he's safe...

"A Dickson man who went missing in January is now facing charges in Texas.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Dickson Police Department, 40-year-old John Paul Redmond of Dickson had last been seen on Saturday, Jan. 27 at a family member’s home. He was believed to be in a rented 2023 Kia Forte with Kentucky license plates.

CDPD Det. Tony Campbell said he was reported missing on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Campbell said Redmond’s family said he suffers from mental health issues and sometimes believes people are following him. After checking bank records, CDPD detectives pinged Redmond’s cellphone, which showed his location in Hooks, Texas, near Texarkana in Bowie County and close to the Arkansas-Texas state line. Campbell said he contacted Texas law enforcement to be on the lookout for Redmond.

The Texas Department of Safety later notified Campbell that Redmond was in police custody in Texas. According to an inmate search, Redmond had been booked on Sun., Jan. 28 for Collision Involving a Motor Vehicle (under $200), Evading Arrest/Detention and Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument. Redmond is being held on $5,000 bond for the first two charges and $3,000 bond for the latter charge. The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office did not provide any more details or a date for a court appearance.

Campbell said Redmond’s family did not know why he would have gone to Texas".
