• John Thomas. 63, was last seen Thurs on his way to work toward Knoxville.
• John lives in the Trenton area of Oak Ridge.

Oak Ridge Police shared that Thomas was missing around 7:15 p.m., and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that the Silver Alert was issued around 10:20 p.m.

63-year-old man who was missing from Oak Ridge found dead after crash on Asheville Highway

The Oak Ridge Police Department said he was reported missing on Sept. 19, and TBI posted to social media on Monday that he had been found dead.

Underlying medical impairment/emergency is not always readily apparent to the coroner. That would be usually uncovered in an autopsy by the medical examiner. But an autopsy is not done in all cases when foul play is not suspected and the family has the right to request that the results not be made public. So we may never know.
