Respectfully bolded by me.

Length of time is not necessary relevant in adoption cases. It is more a case of how settled the child was, how the adoptive family was accepted, etc.

It takes decisions, effort, time and money to adopt a child.

In any case it may be totally neither here nor there. I'm not sure this aspect should be given importance right now.

BBM:

Yes.

Hence the reason for my using the qualifiers, "possible" and "depending."

It may be neither here nor there.

It may be a highly relevant factor.

We don't know whether it's important or not.

I'm very concerned about the terrain (not to mention the temps). It was stated earlier that it was rough, had ravines and drop offs, and "holes". Since this boy was upset when he ran off I am afraid he was not careful with the terrain, nor the direction he was taking. Easy to get lost, and have an accident.
Please find him, safe.

At that age, and certainly without forest all around, but a bit of forest, we had built tree houses, secret hideaways where we would stash stuff. Our parents had no idea what we were up to. I'm hoping this could be a scenario...

Certainly worthy of discussion and exploration.

The TBI has released very few details about the case including when the boy was last seen or who reported him missing.

Amber Alert in Tennessee: Jordan Allen Gorman, missing 9-year-old

According to this article, investigators don't know what prompted him to leave or what direction he took. Also, the dogs did not lead to anything at all. All I can say at this point is "Why not?".
"Investigators currently don't know what prompted the boy to leave, which direction he headed in when he left or when exactly the first 911 call was placed, DeVine said from the scene."

I find this to be CRAP! LE knows exactly the "reason/excuse" as to why he ran, and what direction he went. My heart breaks for this little boy and the family for that matter but LE knows. May not share but knows at least the families reasoning behind it. IMO

Any possibility Jordan actually did come out of the woods that day and found a shed, barn, outbuilding and is scared to come out because he thinks he's in big trouble, perhaps seeing the cops etc?

I know, wishful thinking.....

Personally I doubt it. You’d have a hungry, thirsty, tired, cold child, who probably wouldn’t care anymore about being in trouble.

Red BBM

Whoever saw him go into the woods should know what direction that was...?
Exactly! And someone should know by now who called 911.

No harm wishin'.
I'm wondering where he'd have headed for food?
Without being spotted, he would have experienced hunger.. any orchards or other sources of free food around anywhere?

The @Tennessean has learned from the Gorman family pastor that they are no stranger to tragedy. The Gormans lost a son a decade ago. They later adopted Jordan.

Jordan’s dad is “completely broken, saying I don’t think I can do this again."

Thanks for posting this article. I read it earlier and couldn't locate it.

"Jordan was adopted, Prior said. The boy has two full sisters, who were adopted with him, and there are two other boys in the house not related to him, he said."
Two questions I would really like to ask are: Are the ages of the other children known? And does anyone know how long Jordan has lived with the couple?

That is all we got, to date.

Are there animals in the forest that could have attacked him and carried him off? But I would think the dogs would still get a scent and there would be some evidence of such.
I'm not feeling too good about this at all.

I’m way more comfortable with taking this at face value at this point. I don’t see any strong signs that something nefarious occurred.

Unfortunately though, I’d be absolutely stunned if this had a happy outcome.

It’s too cold, and it’s been far too long.

Has the mother made any statements?
I know the dad did and seems beside himself.
