Dickson County Sheriff Tim Eads tells News 2 that a private investigator hired by the defense found car parts in a ditch near the Daniels’ property. Deputies have been called to the scene to investigate the items.

Tennessee Highway Patrol and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are not involved in this most recent search at the Daniels’ home.

News 2 reached out to the private investigator who tells us that he has handed over new evidence to a deputy at the site and is going to the Sheriff’s Office to give a statement. He tells us that he is “seeking the truth for Baby Joe.”

I told ya! Here comes the he was hit and killed by a car retrial attempt. That defense is SO underhanded. Gonna say the parts were there in April 2018 and not found til now.

DICKSON, Tenn. (WTVF) — Dickson County deputies responded to search an area near the home of Joseph Daniels, where a private investigator says he found car parts that could possibly be related to the case.

Private investigator David Marshburn tells NewsChannel 5 that he is turning over vehicle fragments that he found along a road near the area where Joe Clyde Daniels reportedly went missing in 2018.

Sheriff Tim Eads confirmed that law enforcement responded to the area to speak Marshburn. Deputies have left the area and Sheriff Eads says some of the parts could be a mailbox that was hit some time ago.

Yes, a bit odd IMO. From November 2020:
A private investigator – who's worked on numerous missing persons cases, including the Joe Clyde Daniels disappearance – believes the boy could have been hit by a car or was possibly abducted.

I haven't paid rapt attention to this case throughout all the delays but this guy should know better than to stir anything up at this moment in the trial, even with the jury sequestered.

It was the neighbor's newspaper delivery around 3:00 a.m. if memory serves me correctly.

The jury is sequestered so no chance of them hearing anything. Can't see that this would have any impact at this late stage, but I could be wrong.
