Nick Beres, NC5 News:

BREAKING UPDATE: THE LITTLE GIRL IS STILL MISSING.
I’ve spoken with Kalynn’s grandmother.
She tells me the child was paralyzed in an auto wreck last November which killed her mother.
Custody was initially given to her father ... but, the grandmother tells me the Department of Childrens Services is now involved and looking at the custody situation.
These affairs are confidential so I do not know all the details, but the grandmother tells me that after the child was treated last month for a broken leg DCS became involved and the father and daughter disappeared during just the past couple of days.

DCS is working alongside law enforcement in this matter, but couldn't offer more details because of confidentiality.

I’m confused about the date. Was it April 4th or May 4th?

I saw family on Facebook say that 4/4 was the date she broke her leg. Then 5/4 was the day she went missing. Custody was removed from the farther two days before that.

Prayers for her safe return.

Did I miss any shared custody issues ( I know mom is deceased). Just wondering if a grandparent or someone helped with servicing.

So glad she is safe, with that being said, from what I've read he JUST lost custody while missing. I'm sure it was a panic move but to say he is non custodial and vanished I think is poor reporting. This ALL just took place.Meaning he had custody and lost it while missing. IMO

Thank goodness! Maybe he missed her and was upset about her being taken away? It sounds like he's been through a lot, losing his wife, then his daughter is paralyzed from the waist down. I wonder how the poor darling's leg got broken.
