I am not recording the show, just in case anyone is looking for it!

sensationalized on NG is the truth----body parts sticking out????? Karen I am so sorry this happened to you----you seem to be such a wonderful mom and such a good person. To her family my condolences and be strong. One good point from this show is it will continue to bring attention to Karen's case.

On NG: Video of where Karen's body was found; also NG is talking with Karen's friend, Lisa.

  • #784
On NG I think they said that there IS evidence on her body? I may have heard that wrong as I was not really paying attention...does anyone know if they said this? And if so, is this the only source?

OK, NG just said that DNA evidence was found in the car? And that her body is being "held up" at the ME's office...and she is saying Karen's body was "dumped" there, not killed there...(we still don't know if this is true, obviously.) Now talking about the screw in the tire, asking some tire store manager...

and then went on vacation to Florida. Then they got remarried to each other. Has anyone looked into that he may not have been shocked because she would say she was going to leave or threaten divorce? I tried to look up court records but I can't find them online to see how many time divorce had been filed. Normally I would look right at the husband but in this case something just doesn't seem right.
If I was divorcing and we still lived together and my STBX was missing in the am I would not be looking for him. I would assume that he was out with his new found freedom or didn't want me to know.
As far as picking up the 9 yo from the sleep over. It happens all the time she didn't have to be sick she could have said she didn't feel well so mommy would come get her. Staying the night at someones house may not have turned out to be as fun as she thought. Little kids can be mean. All sorts of things to make her want to come home. If she was sick and needed medicine I would have woke up STBX and had him go while I watched her or vice versa . Since he was already awake and they spoke if there was an issue of needing meds wouldn't have been done then? How many 24 hour stores are in that area ?
As far as clothing . She had been working cleaning hud homes. Could she have had extra clothing in her car? This would be logical. I didn't see that they found her unclothed (can someone clarify )

Tire guy says tire could have picked up the "sheet rock screw" by accident...he has seen them before. When people try to dmage tires, it is usually a very clean cut, valves loosened. A screw like this can indeed puncture and flatten a tire.

  • #787
NG now discussing sheet rock screws with the owner of a tire shop. He is saying they can puncture tires. Tire was off the rim. Could have been driven for a period of time if tire was under-inflated.

My question: wasn't it stated this vehicle had a warning system to alert of low tire pressure? Why would Karen ignore it?

Caller Belinda-Telling NG how amazing she is...
Wants to know if the screw was old-looking or new? Of course no one knows.
Reporter says LE says evidence from body and car will "crack the case."

  • #789
Tire guy says it is very difficult to get a tire off of the rim...would have to have been driven for a long time while under-inflated, or someone pried it off, sounds like he is saying...they don't just come away from the rim easily.

We haven't heard if she was found without clothing...her friend who was on NG also said she did not know.

After reading the text messages from Karen to friends, I get the impression that she was doing really well. Each time she got another job, she was really excited. She was seeing her life taking off, building confidence and succeeding on her own. I would like to know more about her husband, as it's possible that he viewed himself as the head of the family and he viewed Karen and the children as entirely dependent on him. Some men believe that their wife and children cannot survive without them. If Karen was excited about her successes and her husband was feeling like he wasn't needed ... that dynamic isn't good. Her life was moving forward, and he may have felt that he was being left behind, discarded. Those feelings could result in resentment ... anger, arguments, conflict and violence.

She was moving on...new career opportunities, party invites etc... Perhaps watching her get dolled up for a party she would attend without him was more than he could take. Perhaps after a night at home alone (kids and wife gone) he realized what the future might hold and he didn't like it.

Perhaps the daughter was just homesick. It would have been an emotional time for any child, she probably just wanted to be at home with her parents.

Maybe she didn't. Maybe the tire was accidentally flattened while being driven in the woods/road around where her body was left - yet the vehicle had to be driven back close to home, so that the perp would be close enough to walk the rest of the way.

Perhaps the idea to leave the vehicle there was an afterthought.

(ETA: My 'low tire' indicator is on 24/7. They have tried repairing it, but it doesn't last. I've heard others with the same issue. I just ignore mine.)

It would be interesting to know, if indeed this flat tire was caused by sheet rock screw(s), if anyone around there is doing remodeling, construction, etc. where the tire could have picked it up.

In addition it would also be informative to know if her vehicle, like yours, has a malfunctioning warning indicator that she would have ignored. I still don't believe she was the one driving the vehicle that early morning, rather that the vehicle was purposefully left on the side of the road in a location convenient to the perpetrator. As Pat Brown is saying on NG's program, unlikely she stumbled across a serial killer.

If what Karen's friend posted last night is correct and LE has a POI, then I don't see how the perp could be some random serial killer or nut case who happened by. Would more likely be someone known to Karen. JMO

If the car had been driven with the tire falling off the rim, wouldn't the tire have dragged a bit and left a trail for LE to follow? Just a thought.

if you get a flat, most people drive to a safe spot and pull over....i would suppose for someone very close to home, they might try and push the distance to get home and worry about the tire later...but i still don't understand why she would have left the house without saying anything...i need to know why...was the child running a fever and they were out of tylenol? what could have made her leave? from what i have heard, there were no phone calls to her cell from a friend...no friend has come foward...if she had had a flat on the way wouldn't she have called and said sorry gonna be late have a flat....so what if it was medicine for the child...the story told was she came home with the sick child and met her husband on the stairs..whats the first thing a parent does when their small child says they feel sick? they put their hand on their head to check for a fever...so wouldn't the husband know about a suspected fever? wouldn't he know they were out of tylenol? and wouldn't the child know if she was hot? and wouldn't the police know if there was tylenol in the house? the other possibility was there was a prearranged meeting or a meeting arranged by someone that night with a knock at the door...but it does not add up for me...i think the flat was staging.

explain her leaving the house without telling her husband to watch the child and i will stop looking at the husband.

Agree. Either known to Karen, residing in the neighborhood, or both.

For me, it's all that plus the frantic calls after 11 p.m. That indicates something amiss.
