We'll know much more about this in a few hours, I'm sure, when morning comes.

I'm praying for Karen's mother, precious children, and real friends. I just want there to be justice for them.

It 's truly odd if her husband was responsible that she would be found only 3 miles away and right off the route to their home; unless time constraints may have been a factor.

If the husband was involved, there were time constraints. This happened in the night between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. when the car was found around the corner from the home. The younger children were home alseep, and supposedly woke up early even on Sundays.

I'm really not surprised at all that she was found close to home. Even when they dragged the river, that was just a few miles away. There's just no evidence that she was anywhere except that neighborhood on the night she disappeared. :twocents:

<mod snip> Something about this just tells me it wasn't the dad. Would he really drive her down the road and dump her in a graveyard? Seems so strange. Would he really kill her (even if he wanted to - which is a diff't. story altogether) at a time when the kids were home and were going to wake up at any moment? I would argue no. He would do it when they weren't around -- or at school or something. So, with it being in the middle of the night with the kids around, and with her car being parked down the road, I don't think the dad did it. I think it was a random person who may have known Karen or saw her somewhere. She was quite attractive and such a thing can pull the creeps around like bees on honey.

DYER COUNTY, Tenn.- A body was found near the home of a missing mom of four.

Karen Swift, 44, disappeared five weeks ago in Dyer County. The body was found Saturday night in a field. The Dyer County Sheriff's Department told NewsChannel 5 they are not sure yet if the body is Swift's or not.

They say the body is so badly decomposed they will have to wait on an autopsy Monday to know for sure.

I'm open to all possibilities and just playing devil's advocate here. The children weren't supposed to be home that night. They were having a sleep over until one of the girls got sick. If it is the husband he may have planned to kill her that night but his plans were thwarted by the return of the girls. Perhaps the reason the body found wasn't buried was because he didn't have time knowing the girls were home alone and he risked one of them awaking and there would go his "at home" alibi so he dumped her in a field close to home.

On the other hand, if she did go out on her own after dropping the girls off, I can see how this could've been a stranger or an acquaintance who saw a beautiful woman in the middle of the night , sexually assaulted her and dumped her body in the field.

One thing is for sure......she was close to home, fwiw. Whoever did this, I hope and pray they pay for what they've done and Karen gets justice.

My heart breaks for her children :(

Thanks for this excellent post. :woohoo:
It seems that statistics have taken over peoples' minds, and some automatically try to figure in a loved one as the only possible POI. I try my best to stay away from that mentality in my personal observations and see if it leads me anywhere else first. Then, and only then, if there is no logical or probable scenario other than the husband, BF, wife, SO etc, then let the chips fall where they may. To start with tunnel vision gets us nowhere but in a dark tunnel trying to make all the pieces fit into a larger conspiracy theory. JMHO

I just can't imagine any reason she would have left her house again voluntarily after bringing her daughter home, but of course it could have happened.

Edited to add; if the FB page is accurate, then Karen was in fact found on Saturday, as suspected. Hoping justice follows, whoever is to blame for her death, and that she has been found in time to leave clues for LE.

Maybe it's too early in the morning, but please take a look at this image from Google Earth of the road the cemetery is on and tell me if it looks like people and a white car just in from off the main road. Even looks like people "searching" to me. TIA

I tried to look, but it tells me I need to install 3D Plug-In or something...? maybe you are seeing forensic workers?

I looked from a variety of angles and I'm not seeing it. Just gravestones.

I'm not too good or familiar with Google Earth Clu...LOL. Maybe I could use that Plug-In too!! I tried to move it around to get the best image, but maybe someone will come on and be able to do something with it. It does look like a car and people to me. Even people out in the field.

I've seen where they are saying the confirmation has been on GMA this morning.

What I was seeing was up near the main road before you get to the actual cemetery. Only about 25' in. I had to scan out to see it. ??

I am hoping for a press conference this morning that will answer some questions. I have no doubt now that this was Karen (based on Karen's mom's comment). I just hope that there are more answers to this puzzle in the coming days. Karen's poor family must be devistated! I have a prayer in my heart this morning for her beautiful daughters.

I just can't stop thinking about the fact that if David ends up being arrested, the 4 children will have instantly lost both parents. Of course it makes me hope it's not David, even though my gut tells me it is.

She was upset/urgent about something that night and tried to contact her friend several times.

I seem to have totally missed this!! Where was this reported? Is the link buried back in prior posts? I will go back and look.

I sure never read anything about her urgently trying to contact a friend that night! Interesting! Wonder what time!

Poor Karen. I would like to know if she was found buried or just laid there. Did someone put there there to give her a final "resting place?"

Karen text one of her friends several times the night she went missing to call her. I will try and find you the posts.

The new articles say that her body was lying in tall grass. The frost killed the grass and made the body visible. To me, it doesn't sound as if she were buried, just hidden.

The cemetary was mentioned by a local in the MSM:

Police blocked off a large portion of Harness Road near Highway 78 for most of Saturday afternoon and night. That is where they found a decomposed body near the home of missing Dyer County mother Karen Swift.

Many residents were left wondering what was going on.

"I heard Karen Swift was found at the graveyard up here on Bledsoe," said resident Madeline Mann.

And confirmed by MyFox13:

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box says they recovered an unidentified body in tall weeds near Bledsoe Cemetery, off Harness Road in Dyersburg early Saturday afternoon.

"Frost and winter conditions killed the vegetation, making the body visible within a few feet," said Box.

Harness Road is off Highway 78.

Crime scene tape was still draped around the weeded area on Sunday, marking the spot where the body was recovered.

Before the vegetation was eliminated, Box said, "no one could've seen the body from where it was at."

Quoting my own post about where Karen was found in the graveyard. And it doesn't sound as if there was a grave at all. I guess whoever did it forgot that weeds die down in winter when it's freezing.
