So sorry! Typing from my phone today, and I unintentionally typed hypnotist instead of therapist.

Why would Karen put her in her sister's bed? I have 2 kids and I've never done that.

It is very difficult for me to be patient. I connected with Karen's case from the first day for some reason. It may be her age, her kids, anything...

I think that the police very well have a POI or suspect, but they are trying to make certain that they have everything to get a guilty verdict once they go to court. I have noticed in several cases here on WS that the police say that they do not have a POI; but once someone is arrested, their warrant indicates that there was a large amount of blood or some other such evidence of a crime in a person's home or vehicle. A very recent example is the case of Kelly Armstrong. Her boyfriend was certainly a suspect in my eyes, but he was never named a POI and LE did not ever say that a crime even occurred. She was just a missing person in the eyes of the public. However, recently, her bf admitted to killing her and the family was informed that a large amount of Kelly's blood was found inside of the home. LE does not have to relay the "evidence" of the crime until they choose to. They may even only include a portion of the evidence when the arrest warrant is issued.

We know that they have checked two homes and vehicles of two different people in investigating Karen's case. Have other warrants been issued? I just do not know. I will stand by there being a POI and/or suspect in this case. I hope that they make an arrest soon to give some comfort to her family and the community.

I am feeling very discouraged by the lack of an arrest. Sheriff Box has way more than most LE gets in these cases. He has access to her vehicle, home, a body, clothes, at least a couple of possible motives, phone records, a last seen witness, a time frame...

If this case isn't solved, I am going to be totally disheartened. Praying Box has all he needs and if he doesn't that something drops right in his lap.

No arrests made yet in the death of this beautiful mother. I know that testing takes time, but it is discouraging that police have been so quiet with her case.

All obits around these parts aren't written by the funeral home, nor any type reporter at all but rather are strictly composed by the family.. IMO it is indicative of how the family members who composed it feel about DS.. and they were not even near being ex spouses so I feel this is the "nicest" way they felt to do it and IMO out of respect for the kids and not a damn thing to do with DS feelings.. the obit will be forever and IMO the family knows however that there soon could be very drastic changes in the future as far as DS "status"..jmo

snipped by me for relevance and brevity:

Along with other posters on here, I, too, am surprised there have been no arrests yet!

I’ve lurked since this case began but have not posted on Karen’s thread until now.

At first, I thought this was going to be a ‘slam dunk’ case; obviously, not so.

I realize the majority opinion of the spouse being responsible for Karen’s demise makes sense with a motive and close, personal proximity to the victim; however, I have a real problem with the Neighbor, as well.

When I first read that the Neighbor had put out a bowl of poison in his driveway that poisoned Karen’s dog and another neighbor’s dog, I said Bingo! It is a proven fact that persons who harm animals are also capable of harming, to the point of murdering, humans! In fact, many serial killers start out by killing small animals, albeit, usually in their youth. When you add to the poisoning incident the fact that Karen walked over to the Neighbor’s home to confront him about harming her dog, just days before her murder, you have a motive for murder, imo.

How would he have crossed Karen’s path on the early morning of her demise? Perhaps Karen did leave the home to drive somewhere; maybe simply to drive around for awhile to de-stress and think…lots of people do that. Then her tire deflated and she was forced to walk/jog home. Maybe, as fate would have it, the Neighbor happened to be outside and saw her alone. A more sinister idea would be that he planned everything, and had been stalking her. Perhaps he saw her arrive home in the early morning hours of the day she was murdered, caused a little noise outside her home to make the dog bark wherein she went outside to investigate and was grabbed by him. Dunno….just some ideas.

Need to add, this was my line of thinking until I read that one of Karen’s close friends stated that Karen had told her : (paraphrased) if anything happened to her, the husband would be the one responsible.

It could go either way or there could be someone responsible that hasn’t been on the radar screen (at least, the MSM radar screen)! Hope forensics and good investigative skills lead to the perpetrator/s, and that Karen’s family and friends receive closure and peace, Soon!

For those who are surprised there hasn't been an arrest...

Who should be arrested and with what evidence?

I thought the spouse would most likely be the one to write the obit.

I'm beginning to wonder about just what evidence there is....

I also wonder what evidence there is. We know that LE stated that they were checking DNA evidence in the car and on her body. We also know that they claim that this is a homicide even though they have not yet released her cause of death. Obviously they have plenty of "evidence" of a crime, yet they have not released any of their findings to the public yet. I admit I am impatient, but to me it is obvious that they have at least some evidence even if we do not know what it is.

Also, Box has stated that "I am sure once we recieve these results the investigation will advance rapidly" (referring to the coroner's report). It sounds to me like they have a suspect or POI in mind, but they needed COD to tie up loose ends. He also stated that he will keep everything about the criminal investigation a secret to avoid "tainting" the case in the public to avoid a COV. I am hoping that they have the evidence necessary, but due to lack of "funding" and "personnel", they are slow on completing this time-consuming investigation.

No news? What could be taking so long?

Anything? Husband? Serial Killer (RSO Britt)? crickets.....

No news? What could be taking so long?

LE watching and listening to certain persons, perhaps? Waiting for some forensics results, still...or rechecking results?

There was at least one obvious crime scene; a body, not fully decomposed; the victim's car; potential shoe sole prints and finger prints; potential DNA on the victim's clothes/body; cell phone and GPS records and on and on...

LE has alot to process and analyze to make informed conclusions....I certainly hope they are getting closer to arriving at a definitive conclusion that will bring justice for Karen and her loved ones.

(I've read on here about several missing and/or murdered womens' cases in TN (I know, other states, too) going unsolved, or at least unconvicted, let's hope this one is solved, soon!)

IMOO

This has taken a very long time which I guess it would, just very aggregating. Not even sure if sheriff box has made any new statements. Just praying for justice for Karen Swift!
