I worry most of all for her youngest children, her daughters who have all this time been in no one's custody but their "dad's", David Swift.. It is on many levels that my very real concern and worry are especially for these two youngest daughters.. IMO on the level of what happens when the day does in fact come when IMO their "dad" will IMO be arrested for the murder of their momma?.. Again it is my very strong opinion that tho, the wheels of Tennessee justice are unfortunately known to be excruciatingly slow..nonetheless IMO the inevitable day will come when David Swift is charged and arrested for the murder of Karen..and in that being my strong belief therefor I have very real fears about what possible state of mind their "dad" will be in when that day finally comes to fruition??.. IMO desperation is a very real possibility and in that I do have fear for these youngest daughters who are solely at his mercy in whatever state of mind he might find himself to be at that time..

And then of course there is the very real worry and concern I have all four of Karen's children in the effects that will come from IMO their "father's" inevitable arrest and being charged with the murder of their mom..the extremely devastating effects to their learning all of the brutal facts of what was done to their momma and by whom ..coming to that very, very horrific realization alone is something that will take a large part of the rest of their lives to come to terms with facing, coping, grieving the loss of both parents and the very long road of learning to live with those horrific truths..

IMO my concern only grows with the passage of time and the IMO the continued putting off of dealing with the truth and all of the very real life long effects that all four of Karen's children have already been forced into the position of having to deal with them..whether it be now, or later the fact remains that they will be left to deal with, cope, and learn to live with what has been done to their mother by IMO no one other than their very own, "father"..

As I said it is on many different levels that I have extreme concern for Karen's children..especially her two youngest daughters.. I very much fear for them both literally(physically) and figuratively(emotionally, mentally, with life long effects)..

My continued prayers for all of Karen's loved one's left behind in the devastating and continuing, wide reaching wake of tragedy in her life being so brutally snuffed out..

The above is just MOO re: David Swift's possible involvement and responsibility for his wife, Karen's brutal murder..MOO, MOO, AND MORE MOO!

The authorities should have learned from Josh Powell IMO.

"We are at the final stages of the investigation and we are pushing hard for an indictment or an arrest," Box said. "We still only have one person of interest in the case and everything is coming together as it should and we should be able to complete the investigation soon."

When asked if David Swift was a person of interest in the case, Box stated they have not been able to rule him out since the investigation started.

I just want a reporter to ask him why he said that. I also wonder why the DA in that county has never spoken out. Would the sheriff have to present all his evidence to the DA for approval? Can the sheriff in TN arrest someone without the DA's approval? I am NO fan of Box, but he may not be the problem here. I would love to know how this works.

I don't think there is a Sheriff or Police Chief in the entire country (USA) that would bring murder charges against an individual without the District Attorney's or perhaps even a grand jury's approval.

old articles cited below. who the heck knows what they are doing after all this time.

I do know there was one media link that said the DA ran away from them when he saw them outside the courthouse....who knows.....arrrrggggg

On Monday, there was speculation an arrest may be imminent as a grand jury met to consider indictments.(But) Sheriff Box said investigators would most likely convene a secret grand jury to protect investigators as they went to serve an eventual murder warrant.
http://www.localmemphis.com/news/lo...-Dyersburg-Murder/UhsxQq_JxUWyrzCi__CVcg.cspx

"We wouldn't announce if an indictment had been made and jeopardize the lives of those officers executing an arrest warrant," said Box. "That just wouldn't happen."

Box pointed out the investigation is ongoing and too much effort and time has been put into the case for them to not present it to a grand jury until they are ready to go to court.

"People have no idea of the amount of evidence we have had to process and what all we have had to do without there being any eyewitness to Karen's murder," said Box. "This case is still ongoing and we have several more things we would like to do to insure we get a conviction when this case goes to court."
http://www.stategazette.com/story/1921468.html

"These results of the data are currently being complied in a computer-generated courtroom presentation format," said Box.

If the DA isn't wanting to bother with this case, he should have to answer to that and say why. If they felt there was no danger to the community, then they know it's someone who was targeting Karen. But the sheriff will have to say there's a problem I guess. The neighbors saying there are too many questions is worrisome too. As always, we just know what they want us to know.

  • #931
Have seen some cases in which it is not until a new DA takes over that a case is then brought to trial.

  • #932
Still here waiting for Box or the DA or whomever to make a move. Waiting for justice for Karen and her children.

  • #933
Bumping for Karen...praying for some movement in the case and towards justice one of these days.

  • #934
Bumpin' for Karen! This is absolutely assinine! No arrest yet?!!! Come on Sheriff Box, let's get a move on!!! Imminent arrest he said?! He must have a different definition of imminent than I do! Justice for Karen!!!!

  • #935
Bumpin' for Karen!!!! What is the hold up Sheriff Box?!!!!

With no news and then a search warrant that made the news, is this grandstanding? What was the purpose of the search warrant after such a long time? This killer has been smart enough to pull a fast one on the sheriff and surely since so much time has passed, there was nothing left in the house to see. What a shame for Karen.

sophiebelle, I think you may be on to something here - grandstanding! It is truly a shame that someone would put their own self preservation before that of the law in convicting a killer. It's sickening! I just can't believe that the residents of Dyersburg haven't stormed the Sheriff's office! Anyone out there from Dyersburg who can add anything? Justice for Karen!!!

I would like to know WHO is making the decisions to let this case sit still. If the sheriff has presented his case and the DA is stalling, then the sheriff should say so. I think they bungled things from day one, and the mess has caught up with them. I used to even go look at the Dyersburg Topix to get local chatter and people were outraged. Now it's died down to the usual nonsense that those sites quickly become and I haven't looked at that in a year. I wonder what Karen's family and children think happened to their loved one??? If people there would have a protest, maybe someone would at least respond.

sophiebelle, imo, and from my info, the case is being controlled by the prosecutor, and is out of the control of Sheriff Box and the Dyer County Sheriff's Office investigators.

I am beginning to wonder if this case wasn't presented to a secret grand jury mid 2012 that failed to hand down a true bill of indictment. Prosecutors only have one chance at conviction, once an arrest is made and the case is taken to trial. Imo, this would possibly explain the recent search conducted since all lab results would have been back long ago. The ruling of a previous grand jury may only need a little more evidence to give prosecutors confidence of a successful conviction/guilty verdict. jmo..

With that said, and the two year anniversary on the horizon, imo, investigators have been barking up the wrong tree for almost two years now.

(See Pic of lunar eclipse on page 15- comment #365 by Otto)

Add the Lunar Eclipse, on Dec 10/2011, the night before Karen Swift's remains were located adjacent to the 1800s Historical Bledsoe cemetery, possible staging/placement of her body, the three large iron cross that can be seen from miles around, combined with the Halloween connection. As someone suggested in a prior comment. You now have the makings of Southern Gothic Novel, yet tragically this is reality..

The setting in that southern gothic novel might also include the date Karen went missing - October 30th - aka Devil's Night.

Back to reality...

WHO did this? WHO would? WHO even could?

JUSTICE for KAREN!!!
