TN TN - Lauryn Dickens, 9 mos, Memphis, 7 Sept 2010 - *S. Dickens guilty*

I live close to the area where Lauryn and her mother lived. Is there anyway I could be of help finding this precious baby girl? Is there anywhere that hasn't been searched?

I'd like to do what I can to hopefully be of some help to this sweetheart.

Even if she's already gone...she deserves a proper burial

The trial was supposed to start Nov 7 2011 but I can't find anything in MSM about it, was it postponed?
According to another forum it's going to start 12th March 2012.

(Memphis 03/19/2012)--- Trial begins Monday for a Memphis mother accused of killing her baby girl. Investigators arrested 21 year old Shakara Dickens a couple weeks after she reported her 9 month old daughter missing in September of 2010.

Sounds to me like Grandma has distanced herself from "the" baby. Why can they not understand that the public has a right to be outraged? Why can they not understand that the public can see right threw them when they do not even call "the baby" by her name - Lauryn. HOW do these darling babies keep disappearing?!

Apparently court was recessed for today? Jury selection is proceeding tomorrow and WREG are expected to cover the developments.

No word on cameras in the courtroom yet. Decision expected tomorrow per Ann at Hinky. HTH

Another case, too, where no one may have known Lauryn even existed, much less missing, were it not for a grandparent reporting it to police. :sigh:

Think she'll be as lucky as Ms. Anthony? I'm guessing not. For all the wrong reasons too.

I wish Lauryn would be found. This precious little girl deserves the dignity of being laid to rest with grace and respect. lease:

Trial Begins for Accused Baby Killer

The jury of 14, including 2 alternates, was seated around 4:30 Monday, 3 hours after jury selection with 56 potential jurors began. There are 7 men and 7 women. 9 of them are African American and 5 are white. This jury will be sequestered.

Jurors will go home Monday night and pack. They are asked to be back in court Tuesday morning for opening statements. Judge Bobby Carter hopes to wrap up the case by the end of the week.
