KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WCYB) — 21-year-old Layla Santanello has been missing since June and when her mom Jennifer found out another woman went missing in Kingsport, she said she was devastated.

19-year-old Hollynn Snapp was last seen on October 15th and less than 2 1/2 miles away from where Layla was seen last.

Hollynn is 4’8” tall, 110 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Layla is 4'10 tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Jennifer said through social media she found out Layla and Hollynn had similar friends.

“We don't have any confirmation that they knew each other but apparently they did run around in some of the same circles,” added Hunt.

Santanello, 21, was last seen at approximately 6:15 a.m. June 27, 2023, in a field next to Americourt, 1900 American Way. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a white tank top, black leggings and no shoes.

The Kingsport Police Department stated that while the investigation remains open, the police department has not been able to get any new leads.

“It has been a grueling battle searching for Layla,” said her mother, Jennifer Santanello. “We are trying our hardest to keep her name relevant in the media, but we’re also confident that the police department are working their tails off in trying to bring her home.”
In March, Michael Thompson, 21, of Kingsport was arrested for impersonating Santanello. Thompson posed as Santanello and sent Cash App requests to family members and friends after she was reported missing, according to previous Times News reports.

There was no evidence that Thompson had any involvement in Santanello’s disappearance, according to the KPD.

The KPD conducted a 320-acre search along East Stone Drive for Santanello last year, as well other ground searches including her residence.

Santanello’s family plans to hold a vigil for Layla at Borden Park on June 27.

Good Q&A but very generalized. Understandable due to an active investigation. Wonder what areas the 6 ground searches covered. Warriors Path State Park would be far to walk but just a short drive. Hope this area was searched as well.

Reading the reviews for this specific Americourt Hotel is not good at all. Bad area with “zombies” hanging all around. Filthy, dirty inside and out.

I go back and forth on whether or not Michael was involved in Layla's disappearance.

Layla was last seen on June 27 after sunrise (any time between 6:15 am to 8–10am as per a Namus post above) walking into a field. Did she go back home to Michael, something happened there, and now he and his family are covering it up? But if that's true, then why was Michael back at the motel the following day? He would no longer have a reason for being there.
