Those poor babies :(

I have no sympathy for the mom, there were to many other choices she could have made.

There were 6 counts: 1 for felony murder, 1 for premeditated murder, and 1 for aggravated child abuse for each baby boy. Sentencing will be Friday April 26 9am

Her sentence for the felony murder is life in prison. The aggravated child abuse sentence will be determined 4/26. Isn't it a moot point? Or does "life in prison" in TN mean 10 years?

ETA: News say mandatory 51 years must be served before elig for parole. WOW!

Yes, I agree. I have NO sympathy for her. Even after killing the first baby she had the choice to stop.

I got pregnant as a teenager (YOUNGER than her) and didn't have a great family or home like she did - and I dealt with it (and my parents' wrath). She had many choices and chose the one easiest for her apparently.

WELL WHY DOSENT IT MAKE US FEEL ANTY BETTER? This has been a tragedy all the way around, RIP sweet babies! another senseless horrible crime! all I can say is at least it was a quicker Justice than all of our missing kids we search for! still I feel Icky!

I, for one, is very glad she didnt' get away with it.
She had many options available to her.
She could have admitted it to her parents and fiancee.
She could have given them up for adoption-would have made someone very happy.
Or at the very least she could have dropped the children off at the police station or hospital.
Instead she killed them and will spend her life in prison.
Justice served.

I don't have sympathy for her, either. Her family, yes. But not her. She made the choice.

So sad for all.....May the newborns R.I.P. and her parents recover somehow, someway as well her sister.

I was a bit surprised, I didn't think it would be such a harsh sentence. But I suppose murder is murder.

She choose to murder her 2 innocent babies so no one would know she cheated on her boyfriend.Sorry but 'I find her to be a monster. She should have been honest to everyone and admitted what she did,Instead she choose to snuff out their lives ,she deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison. She was not a young teen she knew better then to do what she did.My only sympathies is with the 2 babies. I was very happy to see she did not get away with it!

Did she not have sex w her fiancé? Because could not she have told the fiancée the babies were his? If she had sex w fiancée she likely would not have known who father was

So I guess for whatever reason she did not have sex w fiancée? That is a little odd..unless she was playing the nun card w fiancée and she was having sex behind his back, maybe fiancée was religious and she pretended she was too

What happened, did fiancée dump her? Or did he stand by her? What about babies father? Did he testify?

Her fiancé lives in Louisville. Maybe that's why? Because he would know when they last had sex and be able to tell she was lying?

Yes, he dumped her.
The father- Jeremy Smith- did testify. He didn't know she was pregnant. Said they had consensual sex 3x and only once was without a condom. He is a twin. He thought someone was playing a joke on him when the detectives called to tell him what Lowe had done.

I wonder today how the parents are doing, having turned in their daughter, I'm thinking they truly were idealistic, and believed she would get help in doing so, some real mental health help?

I can't imagine now living with this knowledge, of the most severe penalty for their daughter. Seems she needs some type of psychological help, if indeed she was searching for 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and doctors, why do this?

The parents (I would think) could have opted to bury their grandchildren as they eventually did having a Christian burial service and no one would have been the wiser, except for Lindsey and mom & dad. Yet chose to do what they considered to be the right thing.

Not saying it wasn't, but ..........I wouldn't want to have been nor now be in their position, it must have been a terrible and shocking event to have discovered the corpses.

I wonder if they called a lawyer or a family minister for a neutral party's advice, or someone else prior to calling the police? If anyone knows or followed the transcript of the trial.

Maybe they didn't have sex. She is from a religious family, after all. I don't think she had to pretend being religious. Also, if they did have sex, the fiancee could have figured out by timing that the children were not his.

How do you think they could have a Christian burial service for children that had no official record of being born?

For me, anyway, (depends on the person I suppose), there is always an option of burying your own (if you have a back yard or access to land) and then having the memorial stone made for them.Sounds odd for sure, but I'm sure it's not the first time someone would do this.

To me,one's religion (spirituality) is in one's own heart, not in the outer world for others to see.

But I do see your point . They were part of a church congregation and surely the pastor would have to know to do this the orthodox way, service and all.

Still it's all very sad that they are actually I suppose the reason their daughter is now going to prison the rest of her days. Not that they are the literal cause of course, that lies with the act itself, but they did the best they could at the time I'm sure and more then likely thought their daughter would be given understanding and help. I cannot fathom otherwise.

The did. Her father testified that he called his pastor before he called the police.

You know, I do have sympathy for her parents and sister for what she has done to them. I believe Lindsey Lowe was rightfully convicted and appropriately sentenced to life in prison. If it were my kid- it would break my heart to call the police on them in that situation but I would do it. Notifying the police is the only option, IMO. I hold my children accountable for their behavior. I don't think that will change any time between now and them being 25 year old adults.

Two murdered infants, and you think the murderer should have gotten "understanding and help?" Murderers normally end up in prison, after all.
So why should she have gotten "understanding and help?"

Thanks KAT :blushing:

for your honesty. I think I probably, (if I had to guess of course, because what would any of us do until the moment presented itself), would be probably not......However then again, I'd not have a priest to consult or even a pastor. I'd probably have only my own self to consult. But I thought that was the case, that they must have asked someone they trusted and respected for guidance.

I would have asked my husband (and ran it by him tonight), and he was not so sure either ........but I just know I couldn't do it. However as he said, "well how would anyone have gotten her the help she needed, for if one confided in a psychiatrist, isn't it also when a known law is broken then the confidentiality agreement between pastor/priest & confessor as well as a doctor and their client then compromised?)

I think so, because it made me think of the Menendez brothers who ran to a psychiatrist who did turn on them and called the police.

Or was it his g.f. hiding in the closet who did this and not the psychiatrist after all. :rocker: Very tough call
