From your link

So... where's the boat? And... they were a long way from San Diego, so I'm not sure I'm understanding this.

Yeah, me neither! I am like :jawdrop:

You couldn't get much farther from San Diego than Cecilville and still be in California!! But now I know why they ran out of money in 5 weeks.

Sorry to be OT ... I follow this thread as well as Abby and Libby thread but I am not able to access the Abby and Libby thread. I haven't broken any rules I am aware of. Is the thread closed? Again sorry for the OT TIA

The thread is still open. It is thread #53.

I've gotten that "access denied" (or whatever it says) a few times in the past couple of weeks. I'm not sure what kind of glitch causes it, but refreshing the page (or going to the main link for the thread) a seems to overcome it.

I saw the 4 minutes or so in question. That's what I based my opinion on. I saw the part where she said TC said he was trying to keep ET safe. (The video is right there on the Daily Mail towards the bottom)

I don't know how long the entire interview is, but like I said in my OP, I saw enough.

Did you read my original post? IDK, maybe I worded it wrong.

"I've seen enough"
"It sounds like"

If you have a link to the entire interview, I'd be happy to watch it.

Oh I think I misunderstood you. I thought you meant you've seen enough on here posted and it sounded like you didn't need to watch the video based on what others were saying. My apologies, my bad. :sorry:

Cummins also told authorities that he planned to escape the United States through the Mexican border, after which he would then flee to other countries further south. While working towards these goals, Cummins obtained a small watercraft and conducted a test run to make sure it could reach Mexico from San Diego.

Cummins reportedly attempted to take Thomas from Tennessee multiple times, using multiple different techniques to avoid detection by law enforcement authorities.

All I can say is whatever stopped the boat trip from happening is an answer to prayer. They could have capsized and never been heard from again! And had they made it to Mexico a young beautiful girl like ET would have been a target. There's no way he could have protected her. Sorry sis, he really is looking like a monster the more and more we learn.

And what kind of "watercraft" can you get for under $4500? A surfboard? Jetski? :floorlaugh:

Is he even a boater? The article says admitted to "procuring a boat" so was this his plan or did he attempt to do it? Confused.

From the article: Cummins admitted to disabling the vehicle's GPS system, discarded all cellular phones, and monitoring news outlets while on the run. The documents say Cummins also admitted to seek passage into Mexico, procuring a small watercraft and conducting a test run. His intention was to cross into Mexico through San Diego by water.

I can read two different meanings into this. At first glance it reads as if he procured a small watercraft and did a test run. OR they're saying he admitted to a plan of going to Mexico and doing a watercraft test run.

I wonder if that was his plan and ditched it to go north instead, or if he was planning on going south after a stay up north.

How was he planning on paying for boat if he was broke when he reached the commune?

Maybe he wasn't really broke and lied about that too!

The defendant admitted to the following facts: -

The defendant left Tennessee at a time when he knew he was the subject of an investigation about engaging in improper sexual behavior with the juvenile victim because he had been interviewed multiple times by officials about his involvement with the victim. The logical inference is that the defendant fled in early March 2017 because he did not want to await the outcome of the investigation since it was likely to lead to criminal charges against him and, therefore, he fled to avoid criminal charges. -

The defendant intentionally employed measures to elude capture by law enforcement after fleeing Tennessee. Such measures included switching vehicle license plates twice, disabling the vehicle’s GPS system, using aliases for both himself and the victim, altering the appearance of his vehicle, altering his appearance, using back road routes, conducting cash only transactions, intentionally discarding known cellular telephones, leaving a deliberately misleading note with his wife regarding his direction of travel, monitoring news media outlets from a device procured during fugitive status for current information regarding the investigation, and staying at low profile locations, including hotels with relaxed check-in requirements and commune-type communities. -

The defendant had plans to attempt to escape across the United States border to Mexico. He then planned to seek passage to countries further south of Mexico. In furtherance of this plan, the defendant procured a small watercraft and conducted a test run to cross into Mexico across the water from San Diego. The defendant also considered the feasibility of a land crossing into Mexico.

A rental? (credit card prob. necessary though) A stolen one?

I wonder if they were in San Diego before going north. Maybe he made the test run, and either figured it wouldn't work or got spooked about the AA in Spanish? Maybe he thought the boat was the only way to get across the border after LE said he may be in Mexico? IMO

Just as most suspected. The more I learn about him, the creepier he is. UGH. I wonder if ET even knew he had the "device" (likely a pay as you go cell phone)?

Yep. Probably because he had to show photo ID.
