Memphis police are investigating after the body of a woman was found Monday in the trunk of a repossessed car that was taken across the state line to Mississippi. The car was repossessed from a vacant lot on Crow Road near Chelsea and Highland in north Memphis.

The African-American woman had been in the trunk for several days. The car is a gray Chevy Malibu.

The coroner said foul play is suspected in the death. Neighbors said the car had been sitting in an empty lot for at least a week. Two neighbors said when they walked by the car they smelled a foul odor.

the police might know who this is. they said they weren't releasing a name. if they don't know, they should start with the owner of the vehicle.

I think if the car was parked there a week, that's how long the body has been in the trunk. this was probably a dump. was the car repo or just towed for being abandoned?

I think its a high probability the cars owner is the deceased. a killer isn't going to leave his own car w a body in the trunk. either that or the car was stolen.
