Leydi Nohemy Dubon-Ramirez seems like a good shout. Missing from La Vergne which is very close by to Nashville Tennessee. There isn’t any photos of her available that I can find, however her height is within range, and she disappeared in August which is a month and a bit before the UID was found. However she is very young compared to this doe, at only 16 years old.

I don't think this would be Vandy Doe as there's no indication that Leydi is Black. I also found a Facebook account which I'm sure is her and the last post was in 2020. She also says on this Facebook account that she's from Honduras. I wonder what happened to her though as nothing about her comes up online and her last post was so long ago

Wait, *if* this is the right Leydi (the Facebook location does say Nashville), then I found another account which is her, then she's alive.

Is there any reason why the NCMEC recreation of Vandy doe depicts her hair in a very simple ponytail as supposed to her having her hair in braids as is listed on namus?

Just a guess... But I imagine a braided pony tail or a cornrow pony, which is a very popular hair style. But perhaps she had plait braided hair and some of the rows became undone?

That's a good point. I wonder if they would list the hair as cornrows or braided ponytail if that was the hairstyle she had. I immediately think of box braids as the standard when people say "braids".

I agree, and when I think of box braids usually there's other hair braided in as well, I have seen other uid on namus listed as having hair sewn in or even referencing a weave or wig. But you make a great point. According to this Vandy Jane Doe it doesn't appear as if her skull was attached at the time of discovery, so I too, wonder about the pony tail and braids. It might be possible the artist surmised that much because of evidence or to make her appear more life like? Because what if she did have cornrows that became undone, short hair or if she had a full head of hair she should pull into a big pony tail? You make a great point and it might open up other possibilities!

Not weighing in on whether or not the proposed missing person is this UID, however, I want to clarify that someone can be both Honduran and of black ancestry. I personally know people who fit this description.

Yes, I'm aware. I just think it would've been mentioned on NamUs if that were the case & that they would've put Black & Hispanic/ Latino? But I guess the race description is up to whoever reported the person missing.

But like I said, I'm 99% sure I found her Facebook and based on the photos, I don't think she's Black.

Does anyone know where the initial first reporting of the half hispanic dna came from? I ask because I wonder if the biomarkers were misread as hispanic when it should have been native american - I found a tribe of native americans whose descendants are mostly black and native with some white thrown in the mix, this particular line has a bunch of Moore and Butler surnames. I sent it in to Namus but havent heard back yet.

That assumption was not based on DNA testing; the possibility of Hispanic heritage was the result of an anthropology consult.

Did not know that - thanks!

(DBM), realized there was already a previous thread on this case.

I wish her case would get more media attention... so many potential clues with the full Vandy getup, awareness of her general ancestry and potential last names in her genealogy etc. someone must know who she is. </3

The case was updated a few days ago in Namus.

The current ruleout list is mostly the same as upthread back in late 2024. The only recent ruleout is Ciara Stacho, who was suggested upthread.

Could she be Ciara Stacho, missing from Inkster (MI) since August 2014?
I believe her mom’s side is Italian.
Found the obituary of her greatgrandmother who was born in Italy and her last name is connected to Brunetti.

This person has been identified as Yadezia Ladalyn Jones, a 25yo female who lived in Nashville TN.

This is the press release from DNA Investigative Solutions, who took over her IGG work from Othram, who failed to produce meaningful leads after 3 years of an SNP profile being generated in 2022, in September of last year, began research in October, and developed a potential candidate by December. Direct familial DNA comparison was done by UNT, which confirmed their potential match today, Feb 4. (seems rather early for a press release - I assume it may take some time for Metro Nashville PD to put out their own statement). DNA Investigative Solutions

Criminal records indicate this individual attended a court hearing in Nashville on 8/29/2018, which would indicate she entirely skeletonized and disarticulated within about 1 week (which was within the given PMI but I think is still surprising). I think the newest reconstruction compares fairly well to the subject in life.

The Fall Line put out their own post with more info, but my Facebook feed refreshed before I could save the link, and their account won't show up in the search bar.

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm so glad she's been identified finally. RIP Yadezia. 💔

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, as part of a longstanding collaboration with Othram, has now identified a 2018 Jane Doe previously known as Vandy Doe, as Yadezia Jones. An investigation into her death continues.

Just saw a Facebook post that tells Yadezia's story. Her family thought she was still alive and said that they had seen the Vandy Jane Doe posters but that they didn't think the reconstructions resembled Yadezia :( She had a troubled life and was never reported missing because Yadezia's friends told her family that they had allegedly seen her.

About the Vandy clothing - Yadezia stayed at Vanderbilt Hospital and got the clothes from there. Seems like we were looking at the wrong Vanderbilt.
