Maybe he found a small cave or fox hole.

It's already light there now, isn't it? Any updates on the searches?

Yes it is, and the searches continue.
Maybe someone else has a link for an update.

Just a suggestion as we follow stories of another little one missing in the wilderness. While camo and similar style clothing is popular in many areas, it might be a good idea to dress little ones in brightly colored outerwear. When outdoors in a remote area with active young kids, it might be easier to keep track of them if they're wearing a fluorescent orange, yellow, pink, green, etc. jacket and hat.

It might be harder to keep clean, but if I lived in a rural area and played outdoors with little ones, I would do it. I raised two active little guys and I know how quickly they can take off when your head is turned.

Not blaming the family at all, but just offering a helpful suggestion.

How much of the 600 acres is public land verses private? The weather was nice and people could've been out for walks on public land IMO. We had people finding mushrooms around here. I guess I fear someone may have wanted a little boy :(

It's definitely a sensible suggestion. I have always dressed my kids in bright clothes when we've gone to soft play centres or anywhere really busy where they could get lost in a crowd. It's never occurred to do the same while out in the countryside. Makes sense though!

Regarding someone previously voicing some doubts about grandma's story, I think the 4 y/o sister will be able to corroborate it. I don't believe anything other than what grandma said, happened.

I wish I could come up with a magic cure where to look for him, but I don't have any better ideas than anybody else. The positive thing about this search is that they have opened it up to volunteer searchers.
That's going to include avid hunters and outdoorsmen that don't mind getting muddy and dirty and crawling into spots small enough for a racoon to bed down in.

The evening and early morning after he vanished (Friday) there was rain in the area, and the temps. were hovering in the high 40's- low 50's. Yesterday the temps stayed in that same range with a wind speed of around 10-15 mph. It's hard to say if those conditions would lead to certain hypothermia or not, but I think it's safe to say that it would have been uncomfortably cold, wet and miserable if wearing nothing but jeans and a long sleeved shirt. I would think it could be considered borderline conditions for hypothermia to set in.

Last night would have been the real problem, with the temp. dropping into the mid to high 30's. Trying to judge the survival instincts of a 2 year old is probably a lesson in futility. I could see him trying to crawl into something in order to try and stay warm, but what I can't explain is why he wouldn't come out and approach the searchers if he heard all the noise and commotion they are almost certainly making.

For him to have walked so far during that first night that he actually exited the initial search zone also seems unlikely. Most two year olds I've ever heard about would be scared of both the dark and the forest noises.

I'm stumped. No news is definitely bad news............

In :tears: over your words dyannaON! May all our ForeverAngels beam their little lights down and guide the SAR teams (professional and volunteer). For those of us that do believe, bless them all!

Waking up this morning, I had to brace myself before logging in. I am focusing on the positive: Little Noah's thread remains labeled as an ACTIVE SEARCH. I can't go any further than that.

Heading to the basement once again to see if anyone is listening.

Hang on, BabyBoy! :please:

:candle: is lit for you...

They don't want the public finding remains?

I wonder if they've decided the conditions weren't survivable so there's no urgent hurry in locating him.

Or anyway, that's what it signals to me.

It's going to hit around 24 degrees tonight. Not survivable in jeans and a shirt. I'm hoping this tweet was lost in the translation of "no more NEW volunteers being accepted."

They may have numerous pro teams coming in from elsewhere. The volunteers they have on scene need to keep looking.

That's what I thought too.

You may be right steelman. Posted at 11:03 CST (just a few minutes ago):

Tom Mapes, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff's Office, said the only news to report from Friday night is that there is no new information available.

"We did continue and are continuing the search and rescue," Mapes said. "This morning a new canine unit came in.

"The thing that is so frustrating and bewildering is that we don't have anything new to add."

Now in the third day of the search, Mapes said investigators have not uncovered any clothing, footprints or blood and none of the dogs have been able to pick up a scent.
...
He said volunteers are still welcome and needed.

Is it common to call in state police for a missing child? I mean for a child reported to just walked off from a trusted family member. If the sheriff needed more professionals to hunt, why not surrounding small town volunteers.

I'm not accusing the family but is it a possibility that Noah made it out of the woods and was picked up by someone?

I'm glad for all the volunteers but I believe if my small child wss missing I may not be able too trust they searched closely enough, especially around vacant buildings. I'm praying he's alive when he's found. All is JMO
