Mapes said that a pack of search and rescue dogs from Florida arrived Sunday morning to assist in the search.
...
He says the rain on Thursday night has hindered their ability to track a scent or trail of Noah. The terrain has also been causing multiple problems for law enforcement and volunteers with many reports of injuries of the searchers.

When asked about deer cameras, Mapes denied there was anything useful on the cameras and is currently checking to see if there was any footage of the family on them.

Mapes said the family has been active in the search which is why they have not issued a statement to the media about the search for Noah.
...
Sheriff Weaver reiterated Saturday night that he does not believe there is anything criminal about Noah’s disappearance. When the Sheriff was asked about the grandmother’s account of what happened Thursday, Weaver said he believes her and the entire family is cooperating in the search.

Weaver is also discouraging the public to start or listen to rumors spread on social media and to rely on information directly from the department.

I'm thinking someone grabbed him... but considering they were out for a walk behind a residence-- just seems so unlikely.
Unless he walked out to a road... :(
I have to go back and look at the maps.
Whether it was a person or possibly animal attack-- would there be any scent trail to follow ?
If Noah fell into a sinkhole-- there'd be scent to follow to the edge of said sinkhole, correct ?
It's hard to imagine there's no trail for sar dogs to follow -- starting from where he disappeared.

I don't know if his height has been given. But he average 2.5 year old is around 36 inches tall. (Obviously it varies though.)

On the missing flyer it says appr. 3 ft and 30 pounds.

Hey ILOKAL.. I was born in the Pyburn, TN community/pickwick and attended high school @ Central in Savannah. Have a lot of relatives scattered all over TN.
Yes, I'm aware that DNR denied mountain lion's existence. I had one come in on me calling while turkey hunting in north GA. Thought it was a deer til it got close and noticed it's fluid movement, color, and intent. I came out of my camo blind and don't know which one of us was surprised the most.. I saw a DNR Game Warden when I came out of the woods and shared the story. He said, "there is no mountain lions in these woods".. Guess, their little secret's out, huh?

We shop at Savannah all the time when we're at our cabin in Clifton. We're in Wayne County on the edge of Perry County near Linden. We used to live in Oklahoma (where they also used to deny the existence of mountain lions) and our permanent home is on the gulf coast of Alabama. The cougars in Alabama are mostly related to the panthers in Florida. Lots of them are sighted on wildlife cams so officials have finally admitted to their presence.

(Marking these posts to add to my other ones)
(Note to bring forward Chief's time line of responders reported yesterday in PC)

Map, map

For shading:
600 acres =0.938 square mile

Mark these areas on map for reference, look up current flow tables, etc.

Link please? Tia.

700 feet =0.133 mile

Since the address has now been posted above, I feel ok to post this. The pics of property show trail. I saw some elsewhere too. I'll try looking. The grandparents look to be early 50's so not very aged. Relatively young, IMO.

margarita25, did you see pic 6/6? It looks like a possible fire road that forks on property. So nice wide trail. 700 ft into the woods and she would have frantically searched first before heading to house to call unless she had a cell phone. Then we don't know if there would have been a signal in the woods. She may have had to head back towards clearing or house to call daughter or 911.

On the missing flyer it says appr. 3 ft and 30 pounds.

Early flyers had him at 2 feet and 25 pounds. 3 feet and 30 pounds sounds more accurate for his age.

I live in Michigan, where they also used to deny mountain lion existence. They're here too and I don't know why DNR is so invested in denying them. It's important for the average person to know they could be around and take precautions, especially when you have a child with you.

According to Mapes, the sheriff department spokesperson, no.

I researched GPS bracelet trackers for kids thinking it's a great gift for parents. But to make them so expensive is gouging, IMO. The more reasonable ones have a short distance for tracking and obstacles seem to impede detection. Grrrr...

#UPDATE - Latest info from our #WBBJ crews on the scene. Still no sign of Noah. #FindNoah

Oh, and Noah is reported to be two feet tall, 25 pounds. So tiny. :(

There's no way a 2.5 year old would be only 2 feet tall unless they had some sort of medical condition. I don't think that's accurate. Even a child in the 0%tile would be 24 inches before 6 months old.

On the missing flyer it says appr. 3 ft and 30 pounds.

Ah...yes, that sounds much more accurate. He was born in June 2013, correct? He is just 3 months older than my son and the exact same height and weight. Hits pretty close to home.

This would be REALLY practical in cases of group hikes, or when you are going into a known area where a child could get lost, like a large amusement park. Just attach a smart phone to the child, in a zippered pocket. Then you can do a "find my friend" and determine exactly where the child is.

But a more long term thing, in the form of a bracelet thing is much less practical. You have to keep it charged - at this time, we don't have technology to allow it to charge once a month or less. My husband's company looked into doing this a couple years ago and the size is a constraint also - they couldn't make it smaller than a man's large wrist watch. And couldn't get it to maintain a charge longer than a week.

Yes, I agree. Early reports had him at the lower numbers, which seemed too low. 3 feet and 30 pounds sounds right.

Contacted my dog trainer. She is here in Florida and a Lead K9 SAR Tech Evaluator/K9 Handler at National Association for Search and Rescue, but she said that the area is flooded with help, so she's not there. I was hoping she was because I have great faith in her and her dogs. But I'm sure they also have the best there is. IIRC, it was a search dog that ultimately found the scent of little Jayleil in PA even after other dogs had searched. That led investigators to the canal edge and the discovery of the tablet.

It looks like the Lineable (#7 on the list) has a year charge? I don't really understand all of the techno but it's limited in terms of range.

Also forgive me for the gouging remark if the cost of manufacturing is high. I'm just frustrated. I'm the mom that used the harness and leash. I didn't care about comments made towards me or the frowns. My children would run in opposite directions when we exited the car, even in parking lots. It was unnerving...

Have they brought out and searched with cadaver dogs yet? I'm thinking they should.
