And of course I am only getting articles from May of 2020 - I see @faithx & @dotr following this case - you all have any luck in finding something current & why his trial got moved - for the 4th time!!?? TIA if either of you - or anyone else reading here can find some updates.

Hard case to find new info. but did come across an interesting, lengthy article from 2020, fwiw..

'We waited a year'

McCall's mother is now 78 and still living in Virginia.

At the time of her daughter's death, Lyell said she wanted her daughter's killer, if ever caught, to face the death penalty.

"I give her birth and air, and he takes the air out of her," her mother told the Newport News Daily Press in Virginia in April 1991. "That's what makes me mad — he's still breathing."

Goetz called Lyell the day of Baldwin's arrest and broke the news.

"I told her he was in custody," he said. "She was just hysterical. Just God blessing everyone."

When Coleman spoke to Lyell for the first time in 29 years, he said he was overcome with emotion.

"At age 78 she remembers every bit of our conversations up there. She is so thankful for everyone doing this — especially in Tennessee. I cried like a baby," Coleman said. "I said, 'I couldn't complete it (myself), I had to have some help.' "

Lyell told The Tennessean on Wednesday: "I'm past elated. For 29 years I've been to her grave. It's been a long, hard walk."

Docket finally updated.

Maury County is a relatively small county, still trying to catch up in terms of social media and website updates. (I live here) Most information is kept relatively quiet.

I'm unfamiliar with Judge Sockwell, but sure wish the previous judge was still available because she was a no nonsense judge. Very by the book/law and handed down stiff sentences.

Looks like he changed his mind about a plea...

Iowa Trucker-Killings

Investigators say that DNA evidence links Baldwin, a former long-haul trucker, to the deaths of three women whose bodies were found in Tennessee and Wyoming in the early 1990s

Working as a truck driver, Baldwin was charged with the 1991 murder of 32-year-old Pamela Rose McCall and her unborn fetus in Tennessee. He was also charged with the 1992 killings of two women in Wyoming. Their bodies were found some 400 miles apart.

Here's what I have in my notes on those other murders...

Also – WY – Bitter Creek Betty (~24-32) (found March 1, 1992, off the westbound lane of Interstate 80 (I80), along the bottom of a slope, at the rest area known as “Bitter Creek”, 40 miles east of Rock Springs, WY. Sweetwater County; ID’d in July of 2021 no name as of 12/11/21). - *Clark Perry Baldwin (31 @ time of crime/59/now 63) arrested & charged (5/6/20) with 1 count of 1st degree murder. Warrant has not been served yet. Will proceed after Tennessee charges are resolved.
Bitter Creek Betty has been identified - But can not give her name.
Information on Bitter Creek Betty reference post #7 here:

Also – WY – I-90 Jane Doe (~16-21) (found April 13, 1992, was found near mile post 5 on the west side of Interstate 90 in Sheridan County, WY) - *Clark Perry Baldwin (31 @ time of crime/59/now 63) arrested & charged (5/6/20) with 1 count of 1st degree murder. Warrant has not been served yet. Will proceed after Tennessee charges are resolved.

Also – MO – Gloria Jean Barnes (36) (last seen July 10, 1997, found July 13, 1997 behind Seven Gables Restaurant, Springfield).
5/11/20: Being investigated. On 7/13/97: The old crime scene is at west Chestnut Expressway, near I-44. That’s where Gloria Jean Barnes’ body was found in 1997, but her killer never was. New DNA evidence, investigators say, links Clark Perry Baldwin, 58, of Waterloo, Iowa, to at least three murders. Ali Kahn thinks it’s at least four, including Gloria Jean Barnes. Her body was dumped behind his restaurant before it was his in 1997. At the time, it was a restaurant and truck stop called Seven Gables.

I may have missed it in the thread, but does anyone know who his lawyer is?
2020
''During the arraignment, Judge David Allen assigned a court-appointed attorney to Baldwin’s case and set a settlement date for Sept. 8, Court Clerk Sandy McLain said.''

''Baldwin remains held in the Maury County Jail on a $1 million bond.
An attorney from the office of 22nd Judicial District public defender Travis Jones will represent Baldwin.''
Assistant District Attorney Caleb Bayless will serve as the case’s lead prosecutor, assisted by Adam Davis.
Brent Cooper, District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District, representing Maury, Lawrence, Giles and Wayne counties, said his office will provide the defense with all evidence that has been gathered against Baldwin.''

Thank you!

If I understand the previous posts correctly, his trial for the Tennessee murder begins 11 days from now on April 28? I’ve been trying to find more information about him but after his initial arrest in 2020 he kinda dropped off the news media radar.

He was arraigned on 6/1/20 & then had plea or trial selection hearings - about 3 times, then review hearings which were all rescheduled. Is there a specific time listed for when it starts/started? Is it being filmed? Will there be a transcript made available afterwards?

Good questions! I am not even sure the trial is starting - but will have to wait & see if there are any articles on it. To date - I have found none.
I am just going with what the court site said - and it is not the best of court sites - so not much info available there. But it does say it starts a 9am ET.
I am HOPING it will start! The trial has been reset 6 times already....

Well - when I search - all I am coming up with are articles from 2020.... & the court site still has 4/28/25 as trial date. I shall go ahead & post this - just in case it IS going on.
Maybe someone in the U.S. has better luck in finding something??

Thanks for all the updates @Niner, news articles seem to be particularly hard to find in this case!
