TN TN - Rhonda Daugherty, 49, LaFollette, 2 Dec 2014 - *L. Vann guilty*

Rhonda's dad passed away this morning. It's so sad he died not knowing what happened to his only child.

Its tough for me to accept that we have nothing more from this case. I really wish TBI could give us something...some information to help us know what may have happened to Rhonda.

I say this in case after case. I cannot believe that a person could take someone's life, know that their family is in agony, and remain silent.

jeanne8, I'm so sorry your family is being held captive by Lonnie Vann's silence. His goose is cooked on the other charges already, why not give Rhonda back to her family? For that matter, if his family is so upstanding in the community. Instead of saying "I will not discuss my brother or his charges", why hasn't BV went to LV on Rhonda's families behalf, and asked him to do the "christian thing" and tell where she is?

Just sickening, this whole situation.

I totally agree. His whole family needs to try to convince him to do the right thing, otherwise they are complicit in this as well.

An innocent person would not go robbing people for get away money as they fled town.

He needs to throw himself at the mercy of the courts and perhaps arrange for a plea deal that would spare his life but the continued silence is just plain wrong. 2 wrongs dont make a right and by continuing to hide where he put her is evil.

I too have a hard time accepting the lack of information for this case. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Rhonda's family waiting for answers. I know that many families have waited MUCH longer. I don't know why but some of these cases really pull at my heartstrings....

I am so sorry about this tragedy. RIP Rhonda Daugherty.

So they have enough evidence to convince a grand jury that Vann is responsible, while all along lying to the public about whether the cases were even connected.

This press conference reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...........a press conference "about nothing".

This is already taking on the look and the feel of the Holly Bobo case........tight lipped about everything and no progress being made.

They issue warrants on hunches and rumors. Like some famous legal scholar said one time, "you could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich". The Holly Bobo case is in tatters due to this exact type of "investigation".

The TBI wouldn't even accept any reporter questions at the conference explaining any of this. I assume they must have some kind of evidence to back up the grand jury indictment, but I wouldn't really count on it. An indictment means absolutely nothing without the evidence to convict come court day. I think this is just a ploy to try and trump the robbery charges in South Carolina with murder charges in Tennessee. We all have a "hunch" that Vann is responsible for this, any reasonable person would come to that conclusion, and most of us already have.

They still haven't found her body, and unless they are going to start searching private property, they probably aren't going to. Lonnie Vann knew that area like the back of his hand, having grown up there and lived there his entire life. These TBI boys aren't even locals to that area, therefore they have no idea where to even start looking.

Unless that body found in Knoxville today was her, I don't know why they are doing this out of left field all of a sudden.

My thoughts are with you and your family jeanne8. I hope this will prompt Vann and his attorney to give LE the location of Rhonda's body.
