I join you in the unpopular crowd, and it's great seeing you again on here!Happen to have a link? I missed where the prosecutor made that statement.
And personally, I think BR is getting light charges cuz he did in fact save her, did NOT SA her and only wanted that video to protect himself. It proves WHY he helped a young girl. A man would not be given the same benefit of the doubt a woman would. I doubt he even really wanted it sent to him but that's also the only way to make sure RP can't access it and delete it.
I realize my opinion may not be popular, but until I see proof that BR did anything but demand evidence to show LE when he undoubtedly eventually gets arrested, I'm on his side. I truly don't believe he harmed SP.
The only thing that made me teeter the other way for a bit was when they said the rape kit showed that she had had sexual relations within 3-5 days of it being done. That upset me to no end, because I truly felt in my heart that he did save her from a monster at home, and it was devastating to read that she might have gone from one bad situation to the other. Yet, in the back of my mind, so many things didn't make sense to me. Why he drove her to mail off the letter and copy of the video, he tried numerous times to get her to tell a friend, call LE, go to the hospital for a rape kit- he kept advising her to do this. I truly believe the only reason he did what he did was because she kept threatening suicide, and his conscience was weighing heavily, but wanted proof to cover himself for helping her. As you said, if this had been a female that did the exact same thing, others would be much more understanding. However, many were in his corner until the rape kit test result was brought up- which is still at this point, up in the air. I was waiting for charges today to be filed because of that- why didn't they charge him?
