Videos of the rapes of 10 unconscious boys were found on the cellphone of a Tennessee soccer coach after he left it behind at a restaurant, police said Sunday.

Camilo Hurtado Campos, 56, was booked on allegations of child rape and sexual exploitation of a minor, the Franklin Police Department said in a statement.

He continued to be held Sunday on $525,000 bond, Police Lt. Charles Warner said. It's not clear whether Campos has legal counsel, and the local public defender didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police described Campos as a popular soccer coach and a 20-year resident of Franklin, a city of about 87,000 people 20 miles south of Nashville. He used the job to lure boys to his home, where he allegedly attacked them, police said.

"During off-hours, Campos frequented nearby school playgrounds in both neighborhoods [where he had lived] where he approached kids and recruited them as players on his team," police said. "After gaining their trust, Campos invited many of the kids to his home where he drugged and then raped them."

The allegations came to light after workers at a restaurant found a cellphone someone left behind and were able to search through it in an attempt to contact its owner, police said.

They discovered "unconscionable videos," the police department said, and contacted police, who traced it to the suspect.

The entire school system and the victims and their families are going to need a lot of support and counseling, but also massive privacy to protect the children.

Surely this guy's prior work history needs to be reviewed. There may be more victims in other places he has worked.

Police found at least 10 child victims on Campos’ cellphone and have identified two.

Police learned Campos would allegedly approach and recruit his victims to play on his team, and he gained their trust. He would then reportedly have them over at his home, where he allegedly drugged and raped them.

A heartbreaking investigation is underway as Franklin Police work to identify several young children who were drugged and raped by a Franklin man.

Camilo Hurtado Campos, a popular soccer coach, is being held for Rape of a Child and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Detectives are expected to file several additional charges.

Police were contacted by a local restaurant after staff found a cell phone left behind by a customer, later determined to be Campos. Workers took a look through it to try and find info that would lead them to the owner, so they could return the phone. What they found, instead, were dozens of unconscionable videos and pictures of children, and so they called police.

During an immediate and tireless investigation, Detectives found hundreds of disturbing videos and pictures on that phone. In many of them, Campos recorded himself raping unconscious boys between approximately 9 and 17 years old.

The 63-year-old soccer coach has lived in Franklin for the last 20 years, with that time split between two neighborhoods: Hill Estates and, most recently, on Glass Lane in the downtown Franklin area. During off-hours, Campos frequented nearby school playgrounds in both neighborhoods where he approached kids and recruited them as players on his team. After gaining their trust, Campos invited many of the kids to his home where he drugged and then raped them.

The rapes of at least 10 children have been found on Campos’s phone, so far. Working with local schools, Detectives have identified two of his victims. Police hope that those familiar with Campos can help them put a name with the faces of the remaining victims.

Detectives say that the children in these videos were in such an unconscious state, that they might not even realize that they are victims.

Sometimes, every once in a great while, I believe that there is some sort of divine intervention afoot which leads to these folks exposing themselves and getting caught. What are the chances of someone not having a lock on their phone? What are the chances they'll leave it in a restaurant? What are the chances the finder will scroll through photos & videos? Individually, unlikely but not impossible. All of these things happening? That's just darkness coming into the light, and I'm here for it.

As of Monday night, police say they've identified three of the 10 victims. Five more they didn't know about have also come forward. "We are no where close to the end of our review of the evidence in this horrific case," police wrote.
