It also might be something they do every summer easier to take care of
CW may not have wanted to say she shaved all their heads for fear of reprisals!

I had a girlfriend growing up she had 5 little brothers. She one day shaved all their heads
While mom was at work and used black shoe polish to make it look like they had black hair. It was very funny!
Her mom was not amused! She got in big trouble. But those boy looks hilarious!

There are videos that show Summer in church and you can see that someone (likely Summer herself) shaved the back of her head. Finishing the job was the best solution. Come on, how many kids do you know that have cut their own hair? Lots! Nothing nefarious here.

I agree that is completely possible. I actually don’t know any children who have cut their own hair but it wouldn’t set off alarm bells for me in most instances. Looking at a totality of circumstances in this case though, I can’t say for certain what details are “nefarious” and what details will turn out to be insignificant. I just don’t have enough information to know. Little details can be huge sometimes. IMO, until we know where Summer is and what happened to her, we don’t have a clear picture of which details are important.
Until that happens, I think it’s interesting to hear the details that others pick up on. If we find out months from now that the tote contained something important that needed to be hauled away or removed, I would hate to look back and think I discounted it.

I know it’s difficult because it seems like we can’t discount anything at this point. This is just my opinion. I can’t know what’s important until I know what’s important. I’ve read through other cases that had small details introduced at trial where on most days those details would be insignificant but on one day they were incredibly important. I think it’s interesting many of us pick up on the same details that give us an odd feeling. I’ll be curious to see if any of those end up being relevant or not. I’m just not able to discount anything yet. JMO.

I’m not yet convinced that Summer cutting her hair is relevant to her disappearance. I can, however, think of some outcomes in which it would be very relevant. For instance: if child predators are involved and looking for a certain type of child, if an abductor who happened upon her wandering was looking for a little boy, if the reason for cutting the hair was more punitive than we’ve been told, if someone saw her on SM and took interest due to the shorter hair, etc. JMO.

If those text messages end up being relevant, it may be difficult for LE to determine who actually sent them, since he admitted using her phone without her knowledge or permission.

Interesting observation @MsBetsy and good point. In this instance it may come down to the timestamps via cell provider records and who was in the vicinity of the phone during those times. Good one to think about and keep in the back pocket….

Try putting together a timeline just for the 3 boys. To hear CW tell it, they just sat at the kitchen table from 8 am until 3 pm.

@LookinInn2 , blonde hair and blue eyes are not a status symbol in Tennessee that i have ever seen.

I don't know that a five year old would have any idea who Marilyn Monroe is although they might have seen her photo (maybe). After all, most children that young have grandfathers who are too young to have a crush on her because she died (in 1962) before they were born.

It might not be that the other kids didn't initially want to be friends with her, we don't know. These are very young children.. if we give SW the benefit of a doubt then we should extend that to children who happened to be in a video with a girl who went missing. They might be really upset she is gone.

What gang sign was H flashing? My gang sign recognition is poor and this doesn't look like any of the two handed ones i have seen.

I am NOT saying either H or CB are in a gang, just that she did recognize it and it is a real gang sign. She said she didn't know why he did that and probably she didn't. Probably he was just trying to be funny or cool.

Yeah, there have been incidents around here since school started with kids as young as 8 or 9 flashing gang and white supremacist signs on the school bus and in the cafeteria, with no idea what they mean except that they've seen it on TV and think it's something you do.
