It's an unfortunate situation but a child has been missing since 2021, their living conditions were not ideal, for the lack of a better description, both parents are known for having issues with substance abuse, domestic violence, erratic and dangerous behaviour. What did they expect? I'm SO glad their sons are not under their care, and I seriously hope they're thriving and happy.

IMO there is little chance of the Well's boys "thriving and happy" in foster care.

That's not necessarily true. There are some very wonderful foster carers. I know some personally and I've seen their past foster kids come for holidays and hug them warmly and express how happy they are to have been cared for there.

Sometimes kids had such unhappy, toxic family experiences, they can love and appreciate calm, peaceful and loving surroundings. The new surroundings can be very stabilising and positive for them. JMO

It's of course a possibility that children aren't fully happy and thriving while in Foster care; it's a huge adjustment to be taken from your family and the only home you've known. Add the additional stress and heartbreak of your sister being missing and that's an enormous emotional load for such young kids to have to carry.
BUT, I also don't think they were necessarily thriving or reaching full happiness potential living in a home of chaos, with parents who both seem to have somewhat serious substance abuse issues and are no longer allowed to even phone them.

That whole thought chain ,is why I started following true crime . I used to think people could not ''Just'' disappear, just like you ,are somewhere right? Now I OFTEN see news articles mention is it "just like they disappeared".

It seems like it can happen that way, ---just disappearing'---in 2 separate types of situations.


-----Random stranger abductions, where an opportunity pops up and a victim is suddenly grabbed. Like if poor Summer had wandered down to the mailbox area and a passing driver scooped her up?

-----OR someone close to the victim, who would not look out of place, suddenly turned on them and grabbed her.

Or nature. Sometimes the ocean, a river, lake, or forest aren't kind. You can tragically indeed disappear.

I think this case is probably an abduction, though. Those who keep this thread going are doing a good thing.

Old broken record me, I often remind folks how incredibly difficult it is to "see" remains outdoors. Mother Nature embraces, and camouflages those who have passed. I know of searches where remains have been literally stepped over, or walked right past, later to be found. (2012, Mike Grefner).

In the searches I have participated in, we have gotten on our knees, shoulder to shoulder, looking for jewelry, bone fragments, etc. It's really, really, really hard to "see" in certain types of terrain. Where little Summer disappeared, it would be a monumental, near impossible undertaking. I'm not surprised at ask that she hasn't been found.

I still maintain she slipped and is underneath a secondary surface where she can only be found with a drop cam; *very* close to home. I hope someday we'll find out if I'm right. How happy I would be to be wrong on this one, and that she eventually makes it back to her tire swing. Sweet, sweet Summer.

Too many unprofessional people are making a profit on social media on this case. It's all about the money
to them, so sad.
It should be left up to the TBI and FBI.

I know this is the "official" website, but a few months ago didn't the person who runs the site and writes all this commentary announce that the Wells were stepping back from having an online presence and that anything else that would be written was his opinion only, and not to be construed as coming from the Wells family? Only asking for someone to check my memory on that as it is a very rambling type of post and I'm curious if it's the site owner's opinion or coming from the Wells themselves.

While the post clearly wasn’t written by a seasoned journalist, I found the content to be excellent and wise.

While well intended, or profiteers, it is best for volunteers to stand down until there is a call for help outside LE.
