TN TN - Summer Moon-Utah Wells Missing from Rogersville, June 2021 #34

Wondering why their home has been searched 11 times? I being sarcastic

I wonder what it's going to take at this point for there to be a break in this case. I can't believe it's so quiet all these years later

Don Wells needs to stop giving interviews.

Do we think he is getting paid for these interviews? Greedy you know what IMO
I don't think he's getting paid for the local TV interviews. MOO though.

At least he's not on YouTube nightly anymore.

There’s nothing in that photo that shows SW was dead. Her skin looks normal, not pale or discolored. Her body isn’t stiff, her posture is relaxed like a kid who fell asleep after swimming. Partially open eyes are common in sleeping kids. LE didn’t treat that pic like she was deceased in it either. Imo

People look "normal" right after death, in many cases. Rigor doesn't set in right away (can be as long as 10-12 hours).

What concerned me about that photo is that she is sleeping up against what are surely cold jugs of milk. It was a hot day, of course, so maybe that was comfortable. At the same time, if she was deceased (and I can't tell from just one picture whether she was or wasn't), that would be a way of keeping her limp and appearing to be asleep (cooling her down to stop decomp).

Comparing that picture to other recent pictures of her, she does look pale to me. I am on the fence, but if she did drown, then someone redressed her in dry clothes, IMO.

The dry drowning theory is interesting (as apparently Summer was left to nap in the car when they got home). However, that doesn't explain at all what eventually happened to her body.

I know this is a gross statement to make, but my husband passed in December after months of being in the hospital. He actually looked so much better after he passed away. I was there for hours after his passing and he didn't change that much from the moment he passed away. I could see what your saying could be a possibility.

So sorry for your loss, @PaulaDC. Thank you for sharing.

I think Summer was still alive in the car when the photo was taken, because there was also a teenage boy who joined them for that outing, so he was a witness for at least part of the drive home. JMO.

I still cling to my long time theory that Summer was asleep when mom pulled into the driveway. So she and the boys quietly brought the groceries in and went about their business. The boys went back to video games, Mom and grandma took some of the prescription they had just picked up---And no one checked on Summer until it was too late?

And the cover up followed. Mom convinced the boys it was their fault too so they were too scared to come clean.

It's certainly a plausible theory, Katy, and a tragedy that occurs far too frequently.

But wouldn't the boys have been interrogated by sympathetic, sensitive professionals skilled at eliciting honest answers from kids terrified of retribution? Perhaps not, and that's simply a naive assumption of mine.

I'd have hoped, after so much time has passed, that those poor kids would have divulged their dark and heavy secret to some caring adult they've learned to trust.

But who knows how they're doing, or what their living situation and day-to-day life is like? ...

Summer's disappearance plays again in my mind, with all its sorrowful details, as we await news of little siblings Lily and Jack, missing in Canada for almost seven weeks.

I’m so sorry for your loss xx My uncle was the same, he was a very dark skinned man who when he was dying seemed to lose all colour but once he had passed away his colour came back and he also looked much better for some reason

One would hope so, but I am not sure.

I don't think the boys were questioned much at the beginning by anyone but LE and then homicide detectives eventually.

But I think those poor kids were brought up in strange circumstances and socially would not trust LE or detectives and were afraid of their parents anger at times, imo.

I think they are just trying to survive in their new updated, upgraded living situations. Saying anything about anything from that past darkness is probably frightening.
But who knows how they're doing, or what their living situation and day-to-day life is like? ...

Yes, Lily and Jack are too reminiscent of Sweet Summer.

I agree. We are now 5 years past poor Summer going missing and the boys being removed from the home. Presumably they are safe now and have had specialized therapy. I don’t believe there’s any way they would keep any known “secrets” about what happened to their sister or keep secrets about their parents at this point. Not every single one of them. imo

How has it been 4 years already? :( Where are you, Summer? 💔

Every time I hear something in the news about child Trafficking rings being busted I always wonder if Summer might be among the children found. Like the recent bust in Florida (Operation Dragon Eye) where they found 60 children. Ranging in ages 9-17.Thank you to all agencies involved for their hard work and dedication in finding these children.

I think about Summer so often.

I always hope for a resolution in this case.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Same with my dad.

I too think about Summer, especially when tragedies occur to children and are in the news. There are now three ongoing child-related stories at the top of WS (our posts here will make this a fourth for a few hours).

I think about Summer frequently, my mama heart aches for her. What I find most frustrating is that it seems like there is absolutely nothing, no evidence at all. No leads, no nothing. I don’t really think it was an accident or something intentional by the parents or grandmother because I think one of the boys would have said something by now. Yet, I also can’t imagine this being a stranger abduction because they lived so rurally. Could someone that knew the family and lived nearby taken her? Surely the police would have investigated that theory, at least I hope so. That leaves only her wandering away and getting lost or fatally injured. Surely if she was somewhere in the woods they would have found her. I know there is also the possibility that she fell into an old well or a hole in the ground or something. Sigh….. Summer, where are you???
