This article from Yahoo states that she was boarding the boat with "friends" at 10:30pm Sept 9. She was reported missing after the boat docked, on Sept 10.

IMO.
These women are not friends.
Good friends plan ahead for their chicks b-day, not call at night and say let’s get on a boat.
If they were friends, they would have planned to pick her up and drive her for her 21st birthday for a booze cruise.
I’ve got Shanquella Robinson big time vibes.

Debra Taylor, Tamia's mother, said: "She was with them, and then she had to go to the bathroom, she put her phone down on the table, and they picked the phone up and proceeded to wait for her at the door. I don't know what made them leave, but they left."

Did her friends leave the table to go wait by the door because the boat docked, and it was time to leave the boat?

Did they take her phone and depart the boat and wait for her near where it docked, but she just never came? If so, what did they do when they never saw her exit the boat?

Did they tell the crew she was still apparently on the boat? If not, why not? What did they believe happened to her? Were they really worried about her or not?

Something seems missing from the story, true.

I'm not getting a very warm, fuzzy feeling about her "friends".

Her mother initially told police she didn’t think her daughter made it onto the boatbecause a friend told her she didn’t. An update from police, however, said she boarded the boat, police said.

“When the riverboat docked, the friends could not locate Tamia,” police said in the release.
Hummm a 'friend' told the mother that Tamia didn't get on the boat? Was she not hanging with her friends? This is crazy.

Do we know that her friends were all female?

I don't want to say her friends are suspects, I don't necessarily want to go that far, BUT, if I was on a boat with my friends and one of us said "here's my phone I'm gonna run to the bathroom", we certainly wouldn't just get in our car and leave without said friend. JMO

"I said, 'What do you mean you don't know?' She said, 'We don't know. We lost her.' How do you lose somebody that you came with? She then gave me the story, 'We were on the boat. We were getting out of the boat and Tamia says she had to go to the bathroom. She put her phone down to go back up to the second floor to use the bathroom. We picked up her phone. We went to the door to stand and wait on her and then we left.'"

If there were more to the story than what Tamia's Mom stated, I expect she would have said so. She seems very forthright in her interviews with media.

Per TOS, I won't go that far either - but I can't say it's not in my thoughts. I would never leave one of my friend group if we were out somewhere together. If more information comes out which helps make sense of what we now know, I'll reconsider my current opinion.

No updates today? How about official (non-family) searches?

Did she really board that boat?

The friends’ story lost me when they said she left her phone to go the bathroom. That would be extremely unusual, bordering on unbelievable, for any 21 year old I know. Granted, I don’t know all of them, but I have multiple kids from 16-22, plus all of their friends. They don’t just leave their phone on the table with friends while out in public.

Forgive me for not reading all.

So, her friends have her phone?

Did she really board that boat?
The boat company released a statement yesterday on their FB page that says she is on video on the boat just as it was returning to harbor.

Me too. It just doesn’t make sense that she was there at just about the end of the boat ride and then she’s gone and no one knows what happened.

We would like to express our sympathy to Tamia Taylor’s family and friends in regard to her being a missing person. We can confirm from video footage circling around that she was last seen on the boat as the boat was pulling into the Harbor, where we dock our boats. We have no reason to believe she could have gone overboard and we will be respecting MPD as they conduct their investigation. We hope she is found safe and returns home.
If you have any information about her please contact the Memphis Police Department.

'express sympathy' makes it look like she's dead before reading the rest of the post (poor wording on their part)
