Long time lurker here. I did not see anything about Trinity Bostic here, so I wanted to start a thread. Apologies if one has already been started or if I posted it in the wrong place.

Tennessee girl reported missing last month found dead; investigation underway

In Tennessee, the Hendersonville Police Department identified the remains of a found July 3 as that of Trinity Bostic, 17, reported missing last week.

I agree. That's probably why they haven't released the identity at this time. As time goes on though, they will probably try the person as an adult and then his identity will be made public.

She was from Lafayette, Monroe County, TN. He was from Westmoreland, Sumner County, TN. Twenty minutes -- or 14.2 miles -- apart. I think they knew each other. (IMO)

A hearing that was supposed to take place in Sumner County Juvenile Court for the 17 year old male suspect arrested for the murder of Trinity Bostic has been postponed. The suspect obtained a private defense attorney so the judge granted a few days for the new counsel to get caught up on the case.
The new hearing has been set for Thursday, 7/11/24. At that time, Sumner Co District Attorney General, Ray Whitley, will petition the court to try the suspect as an adult; which the court is expected to grant. If the motion is approved, the name of the suspect will be released to the public.

The 17-year old suspected of killing Trinity Bostic will be tried as an adult. Because the case has been moved out of the juvenile court, we now have his name -- Fernando Perales Mejia.

In addition, today's hearing provided a few more details about how Trinity died. According to court records, Trinity was found with a bullet wound to her face and was identified using dental records.

Court documents also show that based on phone data Mejia and Bostic were together on Friday, June 29th between the hours of 2:30 pm - 10:39 pm. Phone records also place the pair in the area where her body was ultimately found.

Along with phone data, police found a "go bag" and loaded gun in Mejia's closet. They also located a second gun and ammunition which match the casings found in the area where Bostic's body was located.

There's some connection between Mejia and Bostic, but we don't know what it is yet.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — New developments in the death of Macon County teen Trinity Bostic, the teenager whose remains were found in Hendersonville just 5 days after she was reported missing.

A judge has ruled the 17-year-old accused of killing her, will be tried as an adult.

Fernando Perales Mejia will have his case moved to adult court. We're told he'll be housed and handled by the sheriff's office and not the juvenile justice system from this point forward.

The article notes per Shelby May, Trinity’s mother, that a benefit concert in honor of Trinity will be held in Portland, Tennessee on October 19:

“May says that she, family members and friends are planning a benefit concert in Portland, Tennessee, at Richland Park (amphitheater) Oct. 19 slated to begin at 5 p.m. and go on until 11 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Justice for Trinity organization created to help change the Amber Alert laws. If it rains on that day, the event will be the following weekend.”
