Tom Cruise - ALL THINGS II

The request to restrict the airspace above the Castle was rejected, so its gonna get pretty noisy with all those helicopters flying around

LOL. Peter, you are very into Tomkat's wedding! I can't wait to see how beautiful Katie and Suri look. Hopefully Tom's suit fits him better than the one he was busting out of the other day.

Remember when "Breaking News" was about the attack on Sept. 11,or there was bombing in a country where our soldiers are stationed,or maybe even the sad news of a legend that may have past away. It's a sad,sad day, when on going "BREAKING NEWS",or as in one channel, a BULLETIN came across the tv ... for Tom and Katie's wedding.

This is what the news has come to ... kinda pathetic isn't it?

Doesn't Tom Cruise have two other children? Were they at Daddy's wedding? IMO even if KH did have to sign a pre-nup, why not? Even if there's a divorce, it's more money than she would make in her lifetime.

CNN's page says "Celebs, Castle, but no Legality for Tom and Katie". It links to a video and my internet is so slow tonight I can't watch it. Are they trying to say the wedding is not a legal one? Or just another misleading headline?

Apparently, Italy does not legally recognize a Scientology wedding ceremony so Tom and Katie did the legal stuff in LA, Calif. last week.

Thank you. So they are married, just having the ceremony in Italy. Do you have to be married by a religious ceremony in Italy? That is interesting. Thought you just bought a license and got married.

If one is an American citizen, a marriage in other country is not recognized. From what I understand they tied the knot in the US by a civil union. The ceremony there is probably for show and Scientology.

E! News Article quotes publicist saying that they made it legal before ever going to Italy...

"....(Because a Scientology ceremony isn't recognized under Italian law and overseas nuptials aren't necessarily legit under U.S. law, the couple needed to seal the deal in a civil ceremony. In fact, Cruise's publicist, Arnold Robinson, indicated that Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27, had been legally married before setting foot in Rome this week, having "officialized their marriage in Los Angeles prior to their departure for Italy." )...."

Don't you just love it? They got married in LA, then got "married" for the media.

The drudgereport says Tom's children (Kidman) were part of the wedding party.

They are honeymooning in the Maldives. Here are the two probable choices.

http://www.maldiveisle.com/maldivesnews/2005/Maldives_Raina.htm

Raina is a brand-new resort concept, encompassing yacht travel, a private island retreat and a luxury spa, all available to only one group of guests at a time (groups consist of nine people maximum). Unlimited spa treatments, diving, alcohol (excluding champagne and specialty wine), á la carte dining at the resort's two restaurants, sport fishing, snorkeling and water sports and three hours of sailing a day are included in the nightly rate, which starts at $10,000 per couple from Dec. 20 through Jan. 5, with an extra charge of $750 per additional guest. A minimum three-night booking is required. Through April 30, 2006, the all-inclusive nightly rate is $8,000 per couple, with additional guests at $500 per person, per night. A three-night minimum is required.

OR

http://www.maldiveisle.com/maldivesnews/2005/One_Only_Maldives_Reethi_Rah.htm

The newest of the One&Only resorts, The One&Only Maldives at Reethi Rah has already garnered press attention and guest raves for its enormous spa, which includes eight single- and two double-treatment suites, hot pools, ice fountains and crystal steam rooms, luxurious villas and an orchid farm. A lesser-known fact about the island? All can be yours, for a luxurious five days--if you have $1 million to spare. Five nights' room and board is included, as is wine, Champagne, a spa treatment per guest (you can invite more than 200) and sports such as tennis and diving. For a more modest visit, nightly rates start at $930 from Dec. 20 through Jan. 3.

I don't agree with Scientology at all, I agree it is a cult, I think Tom has been controlling and Katie should have run away long ago. But the wedding picture they released does not look fake to me so I don't think Katie signed some contract agreeing to pretend to be in love for a decade and then move on ala Nicole. Katie looks positively madly in love in the picture from yesterday and Tom looks like he is happy and normal for once. They both have white knuckled grips on each other's hands as though they can't bear to be apart. I think it is a beautiful picture. And I think the picture of Suri over Tom's shoulder looks like she belongs biologically to Tom and Katie. Not saying she wasn't conceived in a test tube. HAHA But then there is the account of the never-ending kiss too. Maybe they really do love each other and they are just odd.
PS I like Tom's hair long. But that is just me, I guess.

I think she made a HUGE mistake marrying this man. He's going to control her every move for years to come. And I pity that poor baby having to deal with that cult...and it is a cult.

I'd be willing to bet they divorce within five years. I'd be sick to my stomach if I were her parents.

I agree with every bit of your post, especially the part about Scientology and except for the part about Tom's long hair. :)

I feel the same way.

The second she said, "I do," KH's financial future was assurred, pre-nup or not. IMO, even at 27, she's more naive than Princess Diana. By the way, can KH do anything more than smile? Does she really talk? Is her vocabulary limited to, "Yes, Tom?"
